Breakfast Topic: Things my wife and I have done in WoW

My wife also is the person who read WoW Insider, the site that became WoW.com, long before I did. She was the one who told me what an instance was, the one who realized we could use WoW to communicate during the long period of separation after we'd first gotten to know each other, and the first one to discuss us raiding. She was the one who led our forays into Hyjal long before Burning Crusade and the CoT Hyjal raid. I leveled a second shaman to 70 in part to help her tame a ghost wolf. So in a very real sense I not only owe a lot of my favorite WoW memories to her (Molten Core will always be special to us) but I wouldn't be working here without her. My wife has proved to me that while WoW is a game, it can also provide a lot of great memories.
June 24th is my wedding anniversary: I actually proposed while we were killing Ragnaros. Time has passed, things have changed, and yet here we are four years later. I probably wouldn't have played this long and I definitely wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much without her. Even if she did get me killed sixteen times trying to tame that windserpent in ZG.
I love my wife very much and she made this game special to me in those early months of exploring and questing, showing me the World of Warcraft through her eyes.

Hehe, you sound just like my husband and I. Saturdays I always scoot off the computer and cheer him on for the Fishing Derby. I don't always understand why he does it, since he doesn't seem to need any rewards or the achievement and he likes to grumble about it being a lottery, but I wouldn't dream of getting into a raid at that time!
And if ever we could have been short of conversation, WoW makes sure we always have something to discuss!

To all those who feel a little lonely and sad after reading all that, just a friendly reminder that new Futurama begins tonight. So let Rossi have his little wedding anniversary, but June 24th will forever be the day Futurama came back to us!

Nice title... not misleading at all(!!!)
Seriously though, congratulations! I'm trying to entice my girlfriend back into the game but am having little luck. Shall continue trying...

Matt: "Sally will you marry me?"
Sally: "Oh my God!!!"

Congratiulations on your anniversary Matthew!
hipponaut Jun 24th 2010 8:17AM
Proposing to your wife while fighting Ragnaros is both lame and awesome. I love it.
Happy anniversary!
Josin Jun 24th 2010 8:17AM
Congratulations on the anniversary! I know my wife and I don't tell our engagement story often, due to nudity issues, but I think "while fighting Ragnaros" tops that on the 'Don't share this in public' scale. ;D I worry that the words "epic loot" somehow worked their way into the proposal.
My wife is not much of a gamer (we DO spend hours together on the Lego Star Wars/Indiana Jones games) so getting her into WoW is unlikely. However, she's a very understanding WoW-Wife, and doesn't put up too much fuss when I have to bail on our TV time at 8:45 to log in for raid invites. (First pull is at 9, after all.)
Congrats again on having such a cool and understanding wife, and on the anniversary! Now... where are the kids??
Cyanea Jun 24th 2010 8:30AM
My boyfriend and I are separated by a few hundred miles while we're in school. WoW is how we spend time together.
