WoW Moviewatch: CBC Montage
There's been machinima created as guild advertisements and event advertisements. There's been machinima created as in-jokes for guilds, or nice little send-offs of a group's raiding progress. The CBC Montage, however, is the first machinima episodic news update for a guild that I can recall seeing.
Creating by the Mooing Druid for her guild, Crimson Blood Clan, the CBC Montage does several things. First, it introduces new members to the family. Second, it allows the guild to spotlight a particular member. Lastly, the additional clips and sections give the guild an opportunity to have fun together, and create something they can all enjoy.
If you have the time and know-how to do something like this, I have to imagine what a wonderful tool this kind of well produced news reel would be to any guild. My hat's off to the Mooing Druid. The CBC Montage is awesome.

Hmm, it cut off the rest of my post, lol. As I said, I have enjoyed all of these. Each one contains so much win and such a great idea executed perfectly. Kudos and keep it up

I wish my guild did something like this. Instead, I just get Canadian jokes tossed at me from the healer groups while I 'forget' to taunt off them till the last minute while enjoying their 'oh shi--' exclamations over vent.

I sometimes like to "type canadian" to my friends/canadian guild mates, and put u's where they doun't beloung.

CHARAM the Failcat! :D
Props to Moonora for once more embarassing our feral druid Charam, this time, you got a MUCH bigger audience! SCORE!
(For those of you like "WTF is Josin babbling about?" The night elf druid at the end is our resident DPS cat druid in . For more hilarious degradation of cat druids, feel free to apply at http://www.maniacal.guildomatic.com )

Bah. I keep forgetting that guild tags don't show properly in the comments section. Charam is a proud member (though we're working on eroding his pride) of Maniacal, on Steamwheedle Cartel - US (RP).
Zumimi Jun 24th 2010 12:42PM
Bah, Charam doesn't need dignity to survive.. and since he has none left, he should sing MORE.

Cat druids have dignity? O.o I must have missed that memo.

I love this. Even if I don't follow the in-jokes of the guild, I think this is a great idea.

The Waynes World part was the best

I don't know, the RP version of "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" was wicked funny. Something about the "I can teach you, but I'd have to levy your pay" made me laugh hysterically.

Gah, comment fail.
Much love to Moonora and CBC for producing these. So excellent. Makes me want to transfer my hordie back to SwC. :)

Nice, funny, but wish they'd checked the volume on the TS (Vent?) parts better. Some were totally ok while some where extremely too loud.
Artificial Jun 24th 2010 6:08PM
In other words, just like Vent XD
nonentity Jun 24th 2010 6:17PM
Yeah, and if they aimed to recreate the Vent experience that would have worked but I don't think that was the intention. This is fine on Vent but in a machinima I expect a at least remotely movie-like experience and part of that is well done audio tracks.

What a great vid!! Very motivational... It makes me want to get recruited, server transfer and be a part of the next montage for my 3 seconds of introductory fame.
