Cataclysm: Alchemy mount hinted at on EU forums

However, one thing that we can be sure of is that there is at least talk of doing this, but nothing is certain. We can probably also expect such perks to pop up in other places as all professions are getting a revamp in the coming expansion. And before your fire burns and cauldron bubbles, just remember that we're not even in beta yet and that a lot of things could change.

Goblins should have a ogre as mount. If you have played WC3 the alchemist is riding on an ogre ( but it is the ogre who attacks and stuff ). You can always dream.blah blah blah

You mention Alchemist and a unique mount, eh? ;) We may well have a surprise coming in the future for those who dabble in the Alchemy profession.
Watch this space! I cannot promise it will be an ogre, though. :P

Oh no!
Lucidique Jun 25th 2010 11:43AM
Way to cater to the PVP possé - Kool-Aid Mount crashing walls, making Wintergrasp the easiest thing since stealing candy from a kobold.
Cyanea Jun 25th 2010 11:56AM
Don't you mean "stealing candles from a kobold"? :P
Barinthos Jun 25th 2010 12:12PM

Personally, I'm voting for a flying mortar, a la Baba Yaga. :D

Please be BoE, please be BoE, please be BoE...
CDave Jun 25th 2010 12:13PM
Sure, no problem. You'll just need 500 Alchemy to learn it.

I like the idea of profession mounts having both boe and bop variants. Like a model that only the crafter could use, and a model that anyone can. So you still get a sense of exclusivity, but also a money sink for the collectors.
Alternatively a version that is simply a lot cheaper but is bop, whereas the boe version has a high cost.
Another cool option would be some functionality only present for the crafter, like if the mechanobikes only had passenger capabilities for engineers. I mentioned below the alchemy mount being self flying potion that's permenant for the alchemist but limited uses for others.
A just ideas of course.

It's going to be a golem.
snowleopard233 Jun 25th 2010 12:33PM
Oh if they release a golem it better be for JC and not Alchemy. I did not spend 80 levels chipping away at rocks and gems to have some herb-mixing hippies take away my geological man-monster! :P

@snowleopard233
Watch what you wish for.. if rock chipping is the requirement, I think miners have you beat.

Hell yes!
Alchemy lost a lot of its fun when Cauldrons didn't make a comeback. Useless? Sure. But there's nothing more awesome than putting a Cauldron in the middle of your raid in ICC and making everyone wonder what the hell is going on.
Crimpshrine Jun 25th 2010 12:42PM
Yes. Cauldrons could be reintroduced as the top-level ability for Alchemists, who currently get nothing at 450 other than the satisfaction of continuing to make the flasks they've already been making for a while. Cauldrons could provide a low-level buff to all who click/drink from them. On the other hand, maybe that's too much like drums, too much homogenization...

We're scientists, we don't play god!
But what about the octo-parrot?
Awk! I shouldn't be.
