Cataclysm: Alchemy mount hinted at on EU forums

However, one thing that we can be sure of is that there is at least talk of doing this, but nothing is certain. We can probably also expect such perks to pop up in other places as all professions are getting a revamp in the coming expansion. And before your fire burns and cauldron bubbles, just remember that we're not even in beta yet and that a lot of things could change.

Goblins should have a ogre as mount. If you have played WC3 the alchemist is riding on an ogre ( but it is the ogre who attacks and stuff ). You can always dream.blah blah blah

You mention Alchemist and a unique mount, eh? ;) We may well have a surprise coming in the future for those who dabble in the Alchemy profession.
Watch this space! I cannot promise it will be an ogre, though. :P

Move over Mechano-hog! We alchemists should be getting tricked-out VW Bugs covered in psychodelic flowers named..."Herbie." :-D

Good news everyone!
Seriously though I'm waiting with bated breath to hear about this. Probably won't show up until Blizzcon.

I propose a giant riding lawnmower, though I guess that's more appropriate for herbalism, lol.

This is epic news.

If alchemists get an ogre. Leather-workers need to get a flying mount. Make it look like a leather kite.
Artificial Jun 25th 2010 3:29PM
Hmm. Leatherworking mount. First, skin a beast. Then stuff it with some framework and engineer or magic it to move. Then you can ride it, like it was some kind of beast! XD

Taxidermy FTW!

Conjures a tsunami for you to surf on. This is a very fast wave.

would be a cool mad max reference to make an ogre mount only gnomes and goblins can use called "Blay Star!" and he calles the person riding him "Master".
Turbo_ski Jun 25th 2010 4:45PM
I'm going to guess a "pet" flying rock will be the mount

Homunculus!

So, alchemists will drink a potion and sprout wings or something? I do like the idea of all crafters getting profession mounts. BOP and BOE varieties both would be preferable, just for balance issues.
I feel alchemy has kinda been neglected perk and fun wise. I get it that engineers get fun toys, but all the potions and transmutation and such has so much more potential. In Wrath after you reached level cap there wasn't anything more to it really. Sure, one patch gave us new epic gem transmutes, but other than that, you pretty much had everything you could get by Ulduar.
Leatherworkers, Tailors and Blacksmiths all gained interesting new patterns and recipes with every raid tier. In this sense Alchemy, Inscription, Enchanting and Jewelcrafting have been left behind.
So, what kind of mounts could fit the other crafting professions then?
JC - I get the feel of something carved, kind of like riding on a statue.
Inscription - A paper plane might seem like making fun of it, but tbh I can't really come up with anything else right off the bat.
Enchanting - Fairy Dust รก la Peter Pan?
Alchemy - The flying potion has been mentioned, as have golems and such. Both could be rather fitting really. For the latter though, they would need to feel different from the JC statue mounts (given that all crafters would be getting some mounts of their own).

A giant oozeling would be interesting.
Bad flying mount though.
Irontoof Jun 28th 2010 7:14AM
a huge superfast green ooze :D
"Green Corroding Cauldron"
Teaches you how to summon and ride a Giant Green Ooze. This is a very fast... ooze.

Rocket-Cauldron P34C3-BL00M?
Now that'd be ridicolous. People flying around in cauldrons? It's not Disneyland with spinning (and hopefully, occasionally flying) teacups.

Alchemist - My guess would be one of the following:
- A permanent flask that transforms you into a beast (riding or flying, depending on your skill) The beast could vary depending on your faction, or even race. Or it could even randomly choose between various beasts each time you use it. (Random would be the most fun, IMO.)
-a permanent flask that gives you wings of some kind, like paladins, that allows you to fly. The only thing weird about this would be what they would do for ground mounts. They could make you sprout Centaur-like legs, but IDK if they could make this look cool for all races or not.
-they could do a flying mortar but i personally think that would look kinda dumb. And most people probably wouldn't know what it is and be like, "WTF is that??" And that would leave us with no ground mount.
-another option would be a permanent flask that just granted us the power to fly or run fast, without changing our appearance, but this would be kinda boring and would make it look like people were hacking.
Others profession mounts I'd like to see:
Enchanters - Broomstick (flying and riding, like the Hallow's End mounts)
Leatherworkers - Hang glider with giant animal skin wings (a motor made by engineers could be one of the mats) For a ground mount they could do a land windsurfer with a big animal skin sail.
