Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H).
First, the schedule:
- Fox Van Allen as Foxlight, the blood elf paladin: Friday, 8 p.m. EDT
- Michael Sacco as Sahko, the orc warlock; Christian Belt, as Selfloathius, the blood elf warlock; Elizabeth Harper as Faience, the troll shaman; Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, the troll mage; Michael Gray as Grayfields, the tauren hunter; and Adam Holisky as Adammentat, the tauren druid, will be making appearances as they can
So anyway, I learned my lesson. Don't put anything that I want to do on a poll, because you'll vote against it. And don't put anything I don't want to do on a poll, because you'll vote for it. We have a few polls this week. Because <It came from the Blog> is a huge, friendly, helpful guild, we often have guardians to help us through tough situations. Fast, easy leveling is kind of built in. So please vote for what you'd like to read about -- not what would make us level faster.
Annephora is already level 40. So even though many of us are stuck in the 20s, dancing nekkid on mailboxes, she needs to know where you want her to quest next. I've included
how heavy we think the changes will be in each zone after Cataclysm.
Where should we quest after level 40?| Stranglethorn Vale (high) | 692 (28.7%) |
|---|
| Badlands (high) | 493 (20.5%) |
|---|
| Swamp of Sorrows (moderate) | 193 (8.0%) |
|---|
| Hinterlands (light) | 143 (5.9%) |
|---|
| Desolace (moderate) | 217 (9.0%) |
|---|
| Dustwallow Marsh (light) | 117 (4.9%) |
|---|
| Feralas (moderate) | 303 (12.6%) |
|---|
| Tanaris (light) | 250 (10.4%) |
|---|
Gregg Reece is retiring Yakkowakko. Please choose another class for him to play.
What class should Gregg's new adventurer be?| Priest | 473 (19.7%) |
|---|
| Druid | 387 (16.1%) |
|---|
| Death Knight | 458 (19.1%) |
|---|
| Paladin | 198 (8.2%) |
|---|
| Shaman | 580 (24.1%) |
|---|
| Warrior | 307 (12.8%) |
|---|
And finally, how should we spend our time next week?
What should we do next week?| More Midsummer Fire Festival! | 683 (28.1%) |
|---|
| Battlegrounds | 376 (15.5%) |
|---|
| Random dungeons | 416 (17.1%) |
|---|
| Questing | 356 (14.7%) |
|---|
| Working on World Explorer | 254 (10.5%) |
|---|
| Working on Loremaster | 318 (13.1%) |
|---|
| Working on another achievement (state which in the comments) | 26 (1.1%) |
|---|
Polls end on Sunday and results will be up on Monday, as usual. Also, don't forget the
Midsummer Flamefest event is tomorrow.
If you want to join in on the fun of Choose My Adventure, please join us on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) in <It came from the Blog>. Ask Robiness, Robinemia or any member online for an invite. Guild ranks of Lurker or above have the ability to invite. You are all welcome as long as you play by our simple rules, which can be summed up with "Don't be a funsucker!" Is it just me, or do all the polls show 1 vote for each item? That's gotta be a bug.
kunukia Jun 25th 2010 1:21PM
Just you.
Robin Torres Jun 25th 2010 1:50PM
It is a bug. You were the first voter! Grats!

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of 'first' posters suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."
Duts Jun 25th 2010 3:50PM
These are not the first votes you were looking for.

Good try Robin, but im against ur favorites, ima vote starnglethorn cuase u hate it or are u pretending to hate it so we vote. Damn u got us, curse u
Robin Torres Jun 25th 2010 1:34PM
I like STV! But you all voted that for level 30 too. /shrug

I chose Badlands because of how little attention it gets (I usually skip the damn place) and how much it's going to change. Maybe throw in some Uldaman runs with it too so we can read about some interesting Titan related adventures.
As for the other two polls, eh it was a tough choice. I just chose Druid and Questing. It's not like you can't do the Midsummer bonfires while in a new zone, plus you get experience for dancing at the poles. :)

Naa, have to go with Desolas. No one ever goes there anymore.
samrobb Jun 25th 2010 1:43PM
There's a reason for that, Guru... http://twentysilver.blogspot.com/2010/04/desolate.html
Hob Jun 25th 2010 1:52PM

Desolace is awesome; it's literally one of my favorite zones.
But I chose Feralas because it's also one of my favorite zones, and more appropriate for level 40+
Hob Jun 25th 2010 2:08PM
Also, Feralas has some great perks for Horde-side toons:
* the Sprite Darter Hatchling pet is obtained by grinding faerie dragons
* the muisek questline has some great blue weapons as final rewards... the one-handed axe is especially great for rogues
Sharvis Jun 25th 2010 2:08PM
I've hit Desolace up many times while leveling, there are a surprising amount of quests there, you just have to know where to look. For example, on Horde the Burning Blade mobs in Thunderaxe Fortress drop an item to start a quest. There's the Argent Dawn quest giver at the Ethel Rethor tower for both sides. And both sides have quests that start in cities and lead to Desolace that result in chains. I know how bad the zone is when you had to quest without a mount, but now that you can get your 60% at level twenty, it's not so bad. It just takes some careful planning and doing quests in a certain order so you can do a bunch at a time.
And yes, I always feel the need to defend the zone. There are worse out there.
Hal Jun 25th 2010 1:16PM
Gregg's new character, eh?
I guess the question is, what other toons has he played before, and if the choice is DK, will that be delayed until the rest of the CMA crew reaches the 55-58 range?
Robin Torres Jun 25th 2010 1:32PM
He would start right away.
Gregg Reece Jun 29th 2010 2:24AM
The only two classes I've never even started are mage and priest. I've dabbled with just about everything else to some extent.
erknost Jun 25th 2010 1:32PM
Annephora should go to Dustwallow Marsh and level slooow so the rest of the hang can catch her up.
Vitos Jun 25th 2010 1:49PM
Isn't Tanaris kinda getting, well, flooded? And isn't the lower bit getting renovated for Uldum? And isn't that a bit more than 'light' changes?
Artificial Jun 25th 2010 3:00PM
"Light" is relative. Pretty much every zone is seeing dramatic changes in the landscape, so being flooded doesn't necessarily make Tanaris exceptional in its changes. A bigger factor will be, how has the questing changed? Are the South Seas Pirates likely to still be in operation? Check. Is the Steamwheedle Cartel going to still be in business? Check. So, will the questing experience in Tanaris change? Maybe a bit, but not nearly as dramatically as many other zones. Compared to what's happening in a lot of other zones, Tanaris is getting some cosmetic changes and an instance entrance -- that would be "light".
