Early maintenance announcement includes 24 hour downtime for select realms
Blizzard's already let us know the scheduled downtime for Tuesday, June 29th, quite a bit ahead of their usual late Monday night announcement time. Right now, most realms can expect a normal downtime window of 5 AM to 11 AM Pacific time on Tuesday, June 29th. However, it is time for the next batch of US servers to go down for 24 hours, from 12:01 AM, June 29th to 12:01 AM Wednesday, June 30th.
As with the first batch, the 24-hour downtime will likely be used to get the servers in shape for Cataclysm's launch, and if we're lucky, should mean less downtime in the first few days and weeks as everyone comes in to check out the new content.
Check out the full list of servers with extended downtime behind the break:

Once again my guild will not be able to raid. CURSE YOU BLIZZ!!!!!. But guess i'd rather get it over with now rathe than when cataclysm launches.
Mattimus Jun 26th 2010 7:31PM
Well, you really should come to expect that from Tuesday raiding these days.
Kylenne Jun 26th 2010 11:23PM
@Annoying Spam Guy: Your realms may not be going down, but I'm pretty sure your comment is.
Emmett Jun 27th 2010 9:42AM
You know that no matter what, Cataclysm is going to have a cataclysmic effect on all of the servers anyway? There's no level of preparation that ever seems to work with Blizzard. I'd still expect excessive downtime in the future anyway.

yes yes yes! mal'ganis is not on the list......
....yet =*(
Anathemys Jun 26th 2010 5:13PM
All that means is you get to not play later.
Meanwhile, I hoped that all my realms wouldn't go down at the same time (I have an odd 80 'lock on a different realm than my main one). But looks like that idea's dead...

Same with Lightbringer. I'm happy. I don't want to miss out on a chance to get that new pet from Ahune (...and I wouldn't mind the scythe either). I've gone 6 times so far and haven't gotten anything but cloaks and badges so far.
I'd gladly put off getting my server fixed up for another week or so.
Bronwyn Jun 27th 2010 12:41AM
Yeah neither of my realms are on the list but I also know that even though they're on different battlegroups they happen to be in the same 'zone' or whatever blizz calls their server farms, so I'm pretty sure they'll both go down the same week.
Bark Jun 26th 2010 5:08PM
24 hour downtown during new content. Thanks Blizzard.
Masarah Jun 26th 2010 5:15PM
What new content are you referring to? Ruby Sanctum hasn't come out yet.
Bark Jun 26th 2010 5:16PM
It comes out this Tuesday, the same day as the 24 hour downtime.
Tony Romo Jun 26th 2010 5:32PM
Ruby Sanctum doesn't come out until after Europe gets the new patch (this coming week) AND the Oceanic servers get the same patch (probably the week after). This 24 hour maintenance is probably to get servers somewhat more stable for said raid before the whole World (of Warcraft) explodes.
Amirisme Jun 26th 2010 7:20PM
Oceanic Servers = American Servers. We already got the patch. just waiting on European and Taiwanese servers to get it. :)
Avan Jun 26th 2010 7:58PM
Don't EU patches come out on Wednesdays, anyways?
BigDumbFace Jun 26th 2010 8:03PM
Blizzard has already stated Sanctum won't be coming out this week. Chill out.
Jug of Low Jun 26th 2010 5:12PM
Personally, I would rather have a week or two of 24 hr maintenance downtime than have the first few days or weeks of the expansion ruined due to server issues.
theRaptor Jun 26th 2010 5:13PM
You say that like it is a choice between the two....
Chase Jun 26th 2010 5:13PM
I don't think they would release the ruby sanctum when half the players wouldn't e able to play it. I forswear it avalible not this week but next.
zojakownith Jun 26th 2010 5:14PM
I have some questions for people on previous servers:
Was the full 24 hours used last time or did they come up early? if so how early?
theRaptor Jun 26th 2010 5:21PM
Early? No, it got extended out to 30+ hours. With Blizzards typical "oh yeah guys we are extending the down time" notices at about 26 hours in (just around the time I was supposed to raid).
