It came from the Blog: Server maintenance party

This will be an all-levels event. So go ahead and create a level 1 to join us, if you don't already have a Horde character on Zangarmarsh. If you do, please bring your highest level character to make this go more smoothly. Here are the particulars:
- When: Tuesday, June 29 at 10:15 p.m. EDT (7:15 p.m. PDT, 8:15 p.m. realm time)
- Where: Meet at Splintertree Post in Ashenvale on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H)
- Who: Your highest Horde character, even if that means level 1
- What: Hopefully, a Thief's Reward hat for all
- How: Ask Robinator or any <It came from the Blog> guildie to join the guild; ranks of Lurker or higher can invite.
More details and some suggestions are after the break.
Tips and stuff to know if you are new to our events
Yay! Another bullet list!
- There will be no raid group. Guild chat will be raid chat and I will use ALL CAPS to be heard. So no shouting but me!
- We are over 500! The guild roster bugs out in guilds that are larger than 500. My guess is that we have over 700 guildies. So if you are invited, don't expect to see your name show up in the roster or for the roster to show how many people are on. Also, /who only shows up to 49 people, so that's no good for these events either.
- Death Knights take about 2 hours to get from spawn to Thrall's blessing. It may take you less, but please allow plenty of time before the event to make a DK -- if that's how you wish to join us.
- You may want to turn down your graphics. Many people in one place = icky FPS for some.
- It's all about fun!

For future reference, Zoram'gar is a shorter run up to the Auberdine docks, and you can use the BFD stone if you're doing an event you do summon for. If you're going for a shorter run from Orgrimmar, though, Splintertree does make sense.
(We stage most of our For the Horde!'s from Zoram'gar.)

I was thinking of that, but with the possibility of several low levels, I think Splintertree is best. The run is longer but a bit safer and easier to herd large numbers of people when there is a road to follow.
Thanks for the suggestion, though!

You guys must have the biggest guild evar.
Since my main server's on the list, I might just need to make me Yet Another DK.
KDXanatos Jun 28th 2010 2:27PM
Thank you for inviting the populations of every single downed server to come gum up mine on our guild's raiding night.
Zanaji Jun 28th 2010 2:35PM
Woot, my lock on Zang just made 80 too :)
Jemhadar Jun 28th 2010 2:53PM
Good luck with that. BTW, what is your toon name? I will be happy to salute you as I run by on a PvE server.
biglou Jun 28th 2010 2:55PM
Oooo. Had a great time on saturday. Ill be there tomorrow as methinks there may be some PVP action. Oh, and Chris and XDX, c u there. Nothing fulfills my day more than interfering with the leetards.

I will totally roll a DK and meet you guys there!
SpaceGoatPriest Jun 28th 2010 2:57PM
Sounds like fun, and I would join, but you are starting about the time I am getting ready to hit the hay for the night. Have fun!

I bet there will be a lot of people on earlier leveling for the event. There usually is even without an event. So there will be fun all day, if you want to join.
Brett Jun 28th 2010 3:14PM
There are always folks on, especially on other-server down days! Feel free to hit us up, or even roll a permanent alt, just to get away :)

Looking forward to it! Thankfully this one is after my kids are in bed, so I'll definitely be there! I should likely have a mount by then at least, even if I will be squishy.

No, you have to do something to get flagged. Which we will be doing, so you'll have your chance.
And if we should kill you first, we'll all give you a hug to make you feel better.
KDXanatos Jun 28th 2010 3:10PM
Desecrating an opposing faction's fire flags you.
Bill Jun 28th 2010 3:29PM
Unfortunately you're scheduling this when the vast majority of Horde guilds will be raiding, so you will get little coordinated help from the top Horde guilds on the server.
(cutaia) Jun 28th 2010 3:59PM
Fortunately, I don't think they want or need any help from the top horde guilds. They just want people to show up, be prepared to die a lot and have fun.
Bill Jun 28th 2010 4:23PM
Oh, my mistake, I thought I read where they were asking people to bring their highest level character to make things go more smoothly. I was interested in doing this because it sounded like fun, but I'll be raiding at the time they stated.
curzen Jun 28th 2010 4:34PM
I doubt a little that you'll be raiding that evening given how things were on my server during the last round of extended maintenance - half of our players couldn't log on. And that was without a site channeling the ADD crowd to reroll there for a day.
Bill Jun 28th 2010 5:02PM
LOL, I raid on Zangarmarsh. We're not having maintenance, that was the whole point behind this thread. I think some of the dots are not quite connecting somewhere.
I raid on Zangarmarsh. The server that is not being taken down on Tuesday. The author of this thread made it clear that if people had high level characters on Zangarmarsh, to please bring them so it would make things go smoother.
My guild will be raiding at the time advertised. I know most of the other larger guilds on the server will also be raiding at that time.
curzen Jun 28th 2010 5:41PM
I think you don't quite understand: a shitload of players will flood the servers which remain online, like zangarmarsh (or mine, last time around). Given this post zangarmarsh will likely be hit worse than the rest. Expect enormous queues, random disconnects, heavy lag and other unpleasantries which will make it less likely for you to raid that day.
