Breakfast Topic: Grab it while you can

Some of it might just be re-itemizing the quest rewards, but I suspect Blizzard has pulled out all the stops and made quests -- especially starting ones -- far more creative and interesting than the basic kill X creatures or FedEx deliveries from five years ago. With so much experience under their belt as well as new tools and technologies, the new starting areas and the rest of the Cataclysm-wrought world is ripe for a more engaging questing experience. Be prepared for everything you know to change, so even if you've leveled like ten characters to 80, expect to chuck all that familiarity with old world quests out the window. That means if there are pretty trinkets from quests that you like, these are the last few months for you to get them.
I know, a few months sounds like we've got a ways yet, but time zings by quicker than we realize. What quest rewards would you like to grab as keepsakes of the old world? I'm fairly certain members of the Alliance are all rushing to get their Dartol's Rod of Transformation before it disappears forever. How about grabbing that Sprite Darter Egg from Feralas? The Horde just farm it as a drop, but why take chances? With all of Azeroth getting a facelift, Blizzard is probably going to change mobs and their drops, as well. Horde hunters might want to get that one last chance to tame Echeyakee or Sian-Rotam before the opportunity is gone forever. Quests will surely change, but I suspect rare mobs will be moved or disappear completely, too. I don't think Blizzard is holding anything sacred, which means we're running out of time to grab our souvenirs from vanilla. Quick, what will you be grabbing before it's gone?

what i want to know is, what about the whelplings? I have farmed those things numerous times and never gotten any of them to drop. They are a pain in arse to farm but are so awesome. The tiny crimson whelpling has eluded me for far too long to just dissapear. :(

I spent 2 hours every day for a week killing whelplings before mine dropped. I also did not farm the black whelplings in Dustwallow Marsh. I went to the Badlands. They are in a more concentrated area, less running around and no other mobs to kill in the meantime.

lol doesn't EVERYbody exaggerate? ...still it took me two weeks just to get eecheyakee to spawn in the barens, never mind the too many mysterious eggs that never drop the drake. I won't go with frenzyhearts until i get that drake lol...then, I'ma bust them oracles up but good, for keeping it from me.

T2 gloves, then I have the set.
I'm currently working on Steamwheedle Cartel rep because I can grind it. I'm not doing "Insane in the Membrane". I want the 40 exalted reputations achievement and I'm 4 away from it.
My goal is to help any of my guild members who want something to get it.

need to pick up Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 http://www.wowhead.com/item=19022 for my warrior alt. It is a very solid fishing pole that can be picked up supper easy in the The Hinterlands Horde only as far as i know.

Another quest no one has seemed to mention that will probably be done away with is the the Alliance quest to obtain the key into Searing Gorge. The quest is given from the guard in front of the gated tunnel in southern Loch Modan.

One of my favorite WoW moments was taming Sian-Rotam ... before they made the quest cross-faction and before they normalized pets. He hit like a truck out of stealth. I'd watched him make mince-meat out of more than a few horde groups doing the quest, with his fears and just plain old hitting hard.
It took a lot of patience and timing as I would not disrupt a horde attempt on the quest ... still have him on my retired hunter ... and remains the most rewarding tame in the game for me.
At least that skin they haven't made easy to get yet.

The Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest line probably - if I ever get around to it. I have a horde main that is almost done with Loremaster, and an ally main that should be able to achieve Loremaster too in time (maybe) if I have the time to dedicate to it. After accomplishing both, I will work on that long quest line as it's pretty much the only thing left to see and do for me.
I'm satisfied though. I am very, very happy that I was able to start and play WoW at least one year in advance of the new expansion. If I had started playing this summer, I'd have been bummed when Cataclysm and I didn't get to have done most of everything.
