Ruby Sanctum is open [Updated]

We'll keep you posted, though. Now would probably be a good time to brush up on the dungeon's final boss with WoW.com's Guide to Halion!
Update 6:29 p.m. EDT: The opening of Ruby Sanctum might be a bug, but nonetheless, it's up and running. We have staff who are running it both on normal and heroic mode on the live servers. Blizzard is being coy about it, so who knows ... either way, the boss is up and can be engaged right now.
Update 6:39 p.m. EDT: Nethaera confirms that this isn't a bug: Ruby Sanctum is open, despite several battlegroups being down for another day.

Thanks for all the totally relevant info, nerf. You're like the guy that bullshits about politics at a keg party.

@nerfduken
Not sure why you were down marked either; you're absolutely correct. Performing an nslookup or whois on those ip addresses they do indeed show AT&T owns net blocks in the 12.12x.xxx.xxx range with the host machines all having att.net names. Network Solutions verifies this as well. The worldofwarcraft.com and Battle.net addresses are A(lias) records mapped to AT&T hosts. The realms that are on 24 downtime appear to be mostly hosts in the Dallas center.
Blizzard isn't in the ISP business it would be impractical for them to host and provide their own access. Common business practice these days is to outsource your servers to a colocation vendor to handle the maintenance, security, etc. Even Microsoft does this in many cases such as their Boston (actually Cambridge) location.

I'm just trying to give the correct info out. down vote me all you want, doesn't stop what I'm saying from being true.
FYI politics are for retards like you Jamir. You're probably one of those trolls that hangs out in capital cities spamming how 'heals can't crit'.

@nerfduken: What you say is correct. The way you say it is why you get downrated. And the person you were replying to didn't say the datacenters in question are owned by Blizzard and house nothing else. Replace "Wrong" with "It should be noted that" and your first reply would sound informative rather than undeservedly combative, and without making it sound like you read more into his statements than he actually said. Some people get a bit miffed you tell them they said something they didn't actually say, then say they're wrong for having said it when it's not actually what they said.

@bdaneila
I really dislike when comments like that are uprated when the reality of it all is that Blizzard has treated its clients with star service all this time. This is especially annoying when the comment is brougth about through sheer ignor...before I say it ill let you defend yourself.
As Chris stated the server facility hosting the offline realms is undergoing maintenance. This maintenance which when complete will likely offer us improved service for no additional cost. To add to it, nerfduken has also informed us that the facility is not owned by Blizzard which means whatever issues are present were likely beyond Blizzards control. When three quarters of your servers are ready to go live and your handed a note saying the other the last quarter will need another 12 hours...well what do you do? Blizzard decided to let their people play.
You are more than welcome to your opinions but please before you QQ/Flame please educate yourself and at the very least have a basis for comparison.
Noah Jun 29th 2010 6:13PM
Well it was supposed to be a surprise attack, wasn't it?

NOBODY expects the Draconic inquisition!

Sharee Jun 29th 2010 6:14PM
So.... we couldn't start last week because EU would QQ..... but we can start this week with a very large list of servers down? /confused.
Wuvlycuddles Jun 29th 2010 6:21PM
Not only that, but European realms have only just gone down for the next 12 hours to apply patch 3.3.5 :/
Nice to see blizzard giving everyone a fair chance at the world first :P
N-train Jun 29th 2010 6:16PM
In before the "WTF Blizz opening a raid in all this maintenance/during Fire Festival!!!11"
"We've not yet received word on whether or not he's killable, or whether anyone has killed him. It's /likely/ that this was /unintentional/."

Hmm...MMO-Champ is reporting NO Ruby Sanctum?
Nessie Jun 29th 2010 6:19PM
It's currently open on Silver Hand (at least it's enterable), and the mobs are targetable, so I guess we'll see.

Haha...uprated for hilarious word bubble included in screenshot.

Ruby Sanctum is NOT intended to be open yet, according to Nethaera: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=25626184626&pageNo=1&sid=1#5
Kody Jun 29th 2010 6:27PM
That was from nearly 3 hours ago. It just opened on realms that it wasn't available for 15-20 minutes ago, so this is more than likely a timed unlock related to the time the realm came live.
Chris Anthony Jun 29th 2010 6:33PM
You can leap blindly to whatever conclusions you like. :)
Chris Anthony Jun 29th 2010 6:36PM
Or I can! Sigh. Oh, Blizzard.
tresser Jun 29th 2010 6:21PM
It's up on US Garrosh. tho there's reports of when you engage trash, all your abilites are locked and then everything disappears and you cant zone out.
