If you've been thinking about rolling one of the new class/race combinations, but haven't really been impressed by the ones they announced a ways back, you may be in luck.
Lead systems designer Ghostcrawler has confirmed that
troll and dwarf warlocks will be coming with Cataclysm.
There's no word yet on the lore behind this change, but between
Zalazane on the troll side and the
Dark Irons on the dwarf side, it seems likely there's good enough reason to unlock the class. Now if only we could get them to give us Worgen paladins, we'd really be cooking. Stay tuned to WoW.com, there's more juicy
Cataclysm info to come.

worgen paladin.....wow ...really.....so 4 paladin races for the alliance..let see....2 for the horde.......ya thats really fair
iscalio Jul 1st 2010 12:04AM
There are four Horde shaman races and only two within the Alliance, so yes, you could call it fair.
irv8x Jul 1st 2010 12:10AM
there are too many players who play as paladin. making an inevitably popular race yet another paladin race will only exacerbate the problem.
Thorzon Jul 1st 2010 12:50AM
I agree. Worgen Paladins are completely out of the question. GNOME Paladins on the other hand...
Drakkenfyre Jul 1st 2010 1:07AM
Maybe you don't remember when there were NO Horde Paladins and NO Alliance Shaman.
zdave Jul 1st 2010 1:13AM
@xxStupid_Namexx -- hey, only allies get to QQ about stuff. you sir are a disgrace to the horde.
horde: strength and honor
allies: inadequacy and tears
Jack Miles Jul 1st 2010 7:12AM
@zdave It's true. QQ is a Paladin class ability. That's why horde were given pallies in the form of belfs.
Not sure how this'll work with Tauren. Maybe like seal of blood/the Martyr?

One step closer to ARAC.

The Akatarawa Recreational Access Committee? That's the only reference Google gives me, aside from some chemotherapy drug named Ara-C.

He just doesn't know how to spell 'Iraq'. Also, he doesn't understand this news post at all!
Itanius Jul 1st 2010 8:26AM
ARAC is an old gaming term. All Races All Classes.
Itanius Jul 1st 2010 8:28AM
...or Any Race Any Class, meaning there are no class restrictions for any races.
I'm not saying WoW will ever be that way, but it's getting closer.
Thorie Jul 1st 2010 12:03AM
This means Trolls have access to 9 of the 10 classes, Dwarves too
Super Guest Man 9000 Jul 1st 2010 12:06AM
5 gold says that trolls will still be the least played.
Ben.Berchik Jul 1st 2010 12:14AM
I actually know a couple of mages who after getting post ICC gear went troll for the extra beserk, at this point arcane PVE mages are just haste junkies and troll is looking good for them.
Rams Jul 1st 2010 12:17AM
my dream of my entire guild race changing troll is almost do-able

Trolls Be Flippin' Out Mon!
Sorry, couldn't resist…

A few weeks ago I started running the census+ Addon to track my realm's data. I still can't believe it says 35% of the Horde are Bloodelves...
While I understand everyone and his mother has a Pally (I do, too), I don't get why in the world somebody would choose a bloodelf over ANY of the other horde races. I don't get either why there are so few Trolls.
@Topic: YAY for Troll Warlocks! :D Sadly, after creating my new Troll Druid, Tauren Paladin and Goblin Whatever, there won't be a slot left. :(
