Step aside, class changes. Back off, world revamp. Now it's time to put what everyone
really wants to see into the spotlight: trade skills.
MMO-Champion, which is having some difficulty staying up and stable this evening, has what you're looking for amongst its
Cataclysm information.
Okay, trade skills aren't the most exciting thing in the world, but these previews give us a glimpse at what sort of stats we'll be dealing with on our gear in this expansion. Just look at the
Elementium Poleaxe,
Bio-Optic Killshades and
the new gems. If those MMO-Champion pages aren't your style, there's also a good
unofficial trade skill compilation on the
Cataclysm forums.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

I've been datamining a lot of this stuff over the course of the alpha and posting it on...um...this other forum that doesn't care. Now I have it all posted on the MMO-Champion Professions Forum if you want to take a gander.
There's a couple oddities hidden in the Spell.dbc, like Engineering "pets".

Holy stat inflation. Time to replace all my ICC-25/25-H gear with the crafted 81-83 stuff.
Miz Jul 1st 2010 1:31AM
They are going to update current gear to be similar stat-wise to Cataclysm gear, so don't delete your epics yet, you might be in for a surprise.

As a DK with Mining/Blacksmithing I am pretty dissapointed in what I am seeing as far as weapons go. No strength based one or two handers for tanking or DPS at all.

Yet.
It's early still.

Are you kidding me? The green intellect gem is +40 intellect?
THE GREEN ONE?
The epic "brilliant lionseye" in TBC was +10 and there was a unique-equipped +12 intellect one; the green Wrath was +12. That's mild stat inflation. Doubling the old epic gem? That's just ridiculous stat inflation.
I realize that stats are getting reweighted, but I hope all the older gems get bumped up a bit as well. Otherwise, these stats are just silly.
Cyanea Jul 1st 2010 12:37AM
I think that a lot of this appearance of stat inflation is coming from the fact that the stats are being realigned. Intellect is going to give spellpower now. AP isn't going to show up on gear anymore. So the huge boosts to Intel and Agi and all the other white stats is to make up for the loss of direct SP/AP/etc on gear.
I think only Stamina is really being inflated because of their wish for bigger healthpools for all.
brian Jul 1st 2010 12:37AM
For those of us who were confused at first, he means green quality, as in: uncommon, not epic.
Int gems are still red in the ruby sense.
Qot Jul 1st 2010 12:42AM
Sorry for being inarticulate, I got a little ranty after I hovered over those numbers and saw the mega-inflation. Int gems are in fact going to be red (as they're replacing spellpower gems).

i'm leveling a dk tank through BC right now and her gear has a total of 17 gem slots, 20 when i get the head from crypts. i think putting 20 regal jaspers in would be quite nice. or fuck it, just 20 solid zephyrite. 400dodge/600stam vs. 1200stam.
either way, holy shit. and that's just on the cheap end. maybe i put in the rare (blue) quality gems. /giggle in excitement.
Mohsus Jul 1st 2010 12:08AM
good god.
alchemists make a socketed trinket with 299 stam? not to mention the 80 something stam gems. they were not a kiddin when they said they wanted to bump everyone's health pool up.
Soeroah_the_second Jul 1st 2010 12:10AM
HOLY BEJESUS, 425 stamina and over 300 strength on BLUE crafted plate at 85?! O.O

Noyou Jul 1st 2010 2:10AM
Maybe you caught an earlier post or just didn't see where it said in red: THEY AREN"T OUT YET! I just thought I would help you out on that. Engineering isn't even close to being done yet either. Plus it's beta- things can and will change. :)
