In heroics i use my focus to easily stay on the tanks target. 99% of the time now tanks don't bother to mark mobs, so to stay on their target and minimise the chance of pulling aggro i'll use the macro: /assist [target=focus]. I think i could change it to @focus but i made the macro ages ago and it still works fine. You just press it and you'll instantly target the target of your focus.
