Call for Submissions: Open call for article proposals

Your feature article proposal should clearly outline the topic of your article and its major highlights. It should be lengthy enough (one to three paragraphs) to give us a taste of the tone you plan to bring to your writing. Should we accept your proposal, we'll open an assignment for the article, which will be evaluated separately and may or may not be accepted. Final feature submissions should run between 500 and 1,000 words. Artwork is not mandatory, but any you choose to include must be your own work or from creative commons. We will not accept articles submitted under player names or pen names; please use your real name and email.
We are likely to accept more proposals and make more assignments than we are final articles; only the very best articles will make it through to publication.
Ready to submit? Read up about our guest post program, then sign up for Seed and submit your proposal here. (You can't see the proposal page unless you have a Seed account.) Unfortunately, the Seed program currently only allows us to accept submissions from individuals living in the United States; we hope to be able to accept international submissions in the future. We'll accept submissions for this assignment until 11:59 p.m. EST on Thurs., July 8. Good luck and good writing!

Always awesome to see you guys promoting guest authors -- very cool stuff. I'm curious though, how come the first guest post isn't listed on the guest post page? I may be biased, but it was quite possibly your best ever. =)

I think someone should write an article that succinctly tells the story thus far in WoW. I was listening to the wowinsider podcast and was fascinated by the lore, but I felt a bit lost. A one page article overview would be awesome! A nice bit of catch up for Cataclysm.

Well... that would very difficult to do! I've been reading over the different KYL (Know Your Lore) stories regarding the different races, and to try to figure out which to keep and which to not. Well it's quite a workload. I think the KYL (see the links at the top under the Lore dropdown) articles are your best bet to get caught up on any lore you've missed.
I've learned *quite* a bit from them and they are always a fun and entertaining read!

Make a cataclsym idea or suggestion for changes or new additions that could help improve wow. Make sure blizzard sees them!

I'll still complain about the lack of anyone other than the U.S. being allowed to submit guest posts, but I'll do it in a limerick format to keep it fresh and interesting:
You said you want me to guest post,
But due to your silly blog host,
There are no Europeans,
And no South Koreans,
To submit whilst they much on their toast
(Yes, I was reaching for a rhyme with host and post here :P)

I have a simple article request. How about a how to tank article for lower levels. Like a guide to tanking as a bear/prot-warrior/prot-pally at level 42. Complete with rotations, gear attributes they should be looking for, etc. Lots of people are leveling alts. But most tank guides are for end game tanking. So we get stuck with tanks that are specced part dos part tank.

I have such an awesome idea for a fun and off the wall post. But alas I live in canada and am not allowed to enter.

Id love to have a article comparing vanilla raiding to now in terms of loot. Back in the day you still raided MC/BWL even after AQ/Naxx where out. However, now a days no one goes back more then 1 raid even though they are all fairly easy to finish in 1 night, or a night a 1/2. I think this change is due to the major distinction between iLevels of each instance. Back in vanilla BWL was only a minor upgrade from BWL and there were somethings you couldn't get in BWL that you could in MC. That has gone to the wayside in WotLK where you can get a full set of much better gear in ToC then you could in Ulduar and ICC is leaps and bounds beyond ToC.

Awww, come now guys. Whats with the US only thing? I would love to make a submission as a guest columnist to WoW.com but am a little hamstrung by this limitation. There really are a lot of people outside the US that could make some awesome contributions.
I know this probably has nothing to do with yourselves but rather AOL's Seed App, but is there any reason why you continue to stick with them instead of trying a more "worldly" option? :P
