Cataclysm starting zone preview footage

The WoW.com crew has been hard at work on full walkthroughs of the worgen and goblin starting experiences in the Cataclysm beta, and in the process we've built up a few videos that we simply don't want to sit on any longer. You'll see these videos in our guides as planned, so consider this a sneak preview. Obviously almost every single one of these videos is heavy with Cataclysm spoilers. Don't want to be spoiled? Don't watch.

The Goblin vehicle is sweet! Only thing I've seen so far that makes me want to create a Goblin.

The quests are a blast so far. The Goblin starter zone is a play on the modern life. The satire is hilarious. You need to get a flashy car. Get some cool clothes. Live a vapid existence before... well that's enough spoilers for now.

SAVE THE MONEY!
Or be like that smart (or incredibly stupi) goblin yelling over somewhere else selling the falling debris from the *spoilers* for a quick profit.

^^ this. Man when I first heard there might be new races I hoped Alliance got goblins. I always liked doing their quests and "Are we there Yeti?" is on of my favorites. I am so rolling a goblin something or other on some server (I will be maxed with a Worgen druid and Dwarf Shaman). The quest looks a little crazy (but fun) but just to drive go-carts in a wow setting is kind of neat. Ty for the video!

Is it me or does the human model look like it got an upgrade (on fluidity at least). Then again it is the human side of the Worgen toon. Either way, Maaaan! It will be tough balancing playing time between my 80 pally and the Worgen. Fun problem to have :)

people should know better than to give total biscuit / total halibut proprs on wow.com. Some of the editors here hate him, primarily because he calls out their sometimes shoddy journalism. ;-)
Anyway, regarding the starting zone videos. I agree with you, but lets be objective about it.
1) totalhalibut's videos show the full starting zone quest lines in one long movie. Sometimes 30mins+
2) have commentary
3) are well produced
4) he's done more of them
considering the likes of 'wow movie watch', and the fact that good content from other sites is often reported on wow.com i am a little disappointed that no one has linked to the collection of videos he's put together for cataclysm, they are indeed great (if only all the nerdragers could see past the fact he thought tinker town was in stormwind - somewhat excusable for a horder player that has only ever played horde, for 5+ years).

You can tell they have put an enormous amount of thought and creativity into making these start zones interesting and story-based. I really hope the other races have gotten the same treatment.

Not saying these videos are bad (they are quality) but 'we've built up a few videos that we simply don't want to sit on any longer' seems to me to mean 'Oh shit we can't lose anymore market share to totalbiscuit'.
Not criticising the fact that you've released videos (I WANT TO SEE MOAR CATA), but just saying that I find that kind of funny :P

That's nonsense. TB and OMFGcata both have great videos. If you want to watch them, watch them. If we didn't want to lose people to the competition, we wouldn't be featuring the competition in Moviewatch.

WoW.com completely missed the boat on this one. There are already way better quality videos out there, higher framerate, nicer looking graphics, added commentary, editing, you name it. Who the hell wants to watch 2 minute uncommentated quest videos when you can watch the entire zone played with entertaining commentary and a proper framerate? So lazy, just do what everyone else is doing and embed Totalhalibut's videos, you're not going to find anything better even if he does get the lore wrong sometimes.

Oh wait, we get another take on the starter zones? How is that a bad thing? Dont get me wrong, I enjoy TB's vids, but having more coverage is better.
I would like some coverage of the 'classic' starting zones as well. How did they change nelf/human/dwarf/orc/undead/tauren zones? And what about the gnomes?

For all the trolls bringing up TB's videos: everyone knows about them. Not only that, but some of us just want straight up videos without obnoxious commentary that gets lore wrong.

only negative for me was the sound effects reminded me of Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid. other than that looks like it is going to be a blast.
