Yep - I leveled on Horde side on my main that I copied over. It's not that Hyjal is steeped in night elf lore, it's that the Ancients themselves were very much a night elf thing for the most part. Goldrinn/Lo'gosh is worshiped by many, many races in various forms, including the orcs. The Guardians of Hyjal are a neutral faction, and the events that play out in Hyjal are neither Alliance or Horde weighted, playing as a Horde player I felt I was making a impact and it didn't really matter that I was Horde at all.

Don't worry about the Alliance vs. Horde lore debacle - from what I have seen so far in the beta, both sides have HUGE AMOUNTS of new stories and lore to discover.
