Are we sure the priests didn't force the light like the paladins? I haven't seen anything saying that, though most of the emphasis has been on the blood knights. I think it would be more plausible to believe the blood elve priests are the same as the paladins, it's just how they are. If they could've used the light legitimately, I don't think they'd have forced the Naaru light that.
Having the priests be all pure like they should doesn't seem very blood elf-y.
