I have to go the other way here...cameos are enough for me. If a player doesn't know the lore they can: buy the external material, use wowwiki, read know your lore, or...ask. It's more immersive to get stories from others anyway.. After all, do you know who you countries' leaders are hanging out with? where they grew up? Every detail of all these adventurers lives don't have to be known as you play. No, it's okay to be a little in the dark in game I think. After all, there are plenty of places to get light bulbs.

I do agree raids could be a bit more on-game lore motivated though
