PrintWarcraft.com offers original WoW posters
It's time for me to put my money where my mouth is. A while back, I tweeted that if they released official prints of the Gnomeregan propaganda poster, I'd buy one. I'd like to thank Blizzard, because they are now offering a large selection of original posters through Printwarcraft.com. Selections include the Gnomeregan and Echo Isles propaganda posters, as well as artwork from many past major patches and in-game events, even as far back as the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and the Shadow of the Necropolis.
Most of the art is actually familiar, having appeared on various websites and art books long ago, but it's still pretty awesome stuff, and more than worth hanging on a wall. If your home or office has some bare walls, this might be a good excuse to fill them. You can check at the selection at PrintWarcraft.com.

Really unimpressed with the US prices at $19.95, and the UK ones at £17.95 (that's almost $27, for anyone without a converter). Not a happy Brit. :(

I'm not even going to bother looking at what it would cost to get them to Aus.
I'll just use the plotter here to print my own :)

I had both printed and framed already.

My apartment walls have been pretty bare for a few years, so I decided to start hanging up video game art work.

Very nice, did you buy the frame yourself?
What size is that print, and how much did it cost you?

I really like the Gnome poster but just seeing your Troll one framed there.. I'd much rather have that on my wall. Very nice.

Of course being a major company the costs suuuuuuck but the artwork is cool. I wish I had $20 to throw on the Gnomer or Zalazane (or better yet $40 for both!)

I was one of the first people to get a PrintWarcraft poster of my character, and I'm very pleased with it.
Despite J's comment, the prices are quite low, compared with your run of the mill print at Ye Olde Poster Store. I even dragged mine over to the frame shop where I used to work and did it up properly.
... and I've always liked the Call of the Crusade art; I'll probably get that one, too.

I wasn't criticising the price itself, only the considerable difference in the UK vs US prices. It's something I've come to resent when buying stuff online as a Brit.

Looks like a 24 x 36 print in a standard 24 x 36 poster frame :) An elegant and simple solution to bare-wall-itis.

That was to Hivetyrant, damn the comment system to the farthest, twistyest nethers of the Twisting Nether!

You need an American friend who doesn't mind re-mailing stuff for you :)

There we go.

They're both 14x21 inches. I ordered them from arttoframes.com. It was $40 for each, plus $30 shipping. The print quality and the frame quality are excellent. And it looks much better than having paper posters taped or push-pinned to the wall.
I live in a remote area, so its hard to find good framing locally.
Here's the Gnomeregan poster: http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8469/2010071220222850.jpg
I know the photo is blurry, but the print itself is very sharp.
Unless I find someplace that's just as good, but cheaper, I'm going to order more from them.

When did Shadow of the Necropolis come out? I don't recall that phraseology - at all!!
They did a good job with these. Good show.
RetPallyJil Jul 13th 2010 1:04AM
That was the original Naxxramas patch.

Given how much awesome Blizzard artwork there is out there, I'm disappointed with what made it to this selection. A lot of them are just a bit rubbish.

When the gnomeregan poster first came out they offered a high-res downloadable version. I grabbed it, stuck it on a memory stick and had it a professional print done on A3 which I then had framed.
The print cost me all of 17ZAR but the framing was almost 350 ZAR. I am very happy with the result and it hangs in a spot of pride in my home, and was very grateful to blizzard for offering the print-quality version.
This looks like a solid expansion on that - and I would be very tempted to buy from them in future except that with shipping and exchange rate costs it would be a major fortune for me to get the posters this way, and I still would have the large cost of framing them.
So if I ever feel the two framed posters that grace my living room walls (one is the gnomeregan, the other is an official ACDC/Ironman2 poster which was handed out to those of us attending the first night showing here) then I may simply have to look for things already available locally.
Still kudo's on this one, as somebody with one of their best poster-ideas already gracing my walls, I think it's a clear case of offering a service many users would want.
PS. As it happens when I went to pick up the print, the girl behind me in line said: Hey that's a WoW poster - what server you on ? We had a very fun chat about our characters while her boyfriend stood with that patient accepting boredom usually reserved for the faces of golf-widdows :P

Because breaking copyright law is awesome, right?

It isn't breaking copyright law to make a single copy for personal, non-commercial use. Fair use explicitly allows me to do that.
