I really hope the Assassination abilities make up for the loss of Dual Wield Specialization, which I am assuming is no longer a talent in the combat tree as it is not a Combat specific passive ability. If the Assa ability doesn't match DWS, Combat rogues are going to be ahead of Assa DPS by a significant margin, again assuming DWS is remotely as significant a DPS increase as it is now.

They seem to intend to tweak mastery bonuses to keep all trees in line for DPS. I think you're making very wild speculations based on no information.

My concern comes from the fact that even though DWS was in the Combat tree, it was a almost mandatory 5 point talent for nearly all rogue specs. AFAIK rogues are the only class that exclusively dual wield 1-handed weapons so making DWS Combat only seems kinda weird to me. Then again this is early beta and Blizzard has said "Assassination rogue trees are not as far along as other specializations." so I could quite possibly (read:probably) be concerned over nothing.

Blizzard said a few months ago they want more of a rogue's damage to come from yellow special attacks. Which means they will tone down the white damage Combat had as its main damage source.
