Choose My Adventure: Live streaming of Robinemia's insanity
Choose the adventures of the WoW.com staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H).
Robinemia is streaming right now via Justin.TV for the next hour or so. We're going to be beating up Syndicate again. You wanted grinding. You're getting grinding. I think we'll all have earned the Insane title by the end of this, whether we get the actual in-game one or not.
Join us in-game if you are in the high 20s or higher or watch us on the stream. I use the audio on the stream as a kind of voice chat. Only it's just me ... babbling. If you're looking for serious business, this isn't it. Seriously.
Also, I'm sorry in advance for the funsuckers. They can't help themselves. Their lives are so sad that they have nothing better to do than try to ruin other people's fun. But they can't. We're going to have fun in spite of them. They are destined to fail and therefore deserve our pity. Awwww.

Don't pity the funsuckers, then they won't change their ways.
I'd like to tell you to ignore them too, butttt we all know that that won't help. All I can suggest is roll on a PvP realm and gank them... horribly.

I have to throw myself under the proverbial failbus here. Why do you guys even have a Choose My Adventure thing if you're always going to complain about the choices that people make? It seems like it's fairly clear that you have a certain way you wanted to level these characters - I understand that, I'm leveling six alts through Loremaster simultaneously. Why not choose a different format for this that doesn't involve people making choices for you that you complain about in almost every post that involves Choose My Adventure? Or simply don't offer write-in or options that you absolutely hate. It's sort of like parenting. You don't ask a toddler what they want for dinner, you give them several sane, healthy choices that they can pick from. That way, you don't end up sitting in the play area at McDonalds with a bunch of other parents and dirty screaming kids, but instead you have a nice meal that's appealing to both you *and* the kids.

I think they're being sarcastic rather than moany, to be fair ;)

Why is it that the advertising banner on your Live Stream is for a Gold Selling site? As someone that has had their account hacked, it seems like this is a bad message to send out there. When people go to Wow.com, they attribute a certain amount of authority to what they find on this site. If it's on wow.com, it must be good, right?
So if people are watching your live stream, and they see a constant banner ad for a gold selling site, don't you think they will (however incorrectly) began to think that Wow.com supports gold selling? Do you have any control over this?

I'm sure they didn't choose to have a gold selling ad.

@ prophet
Which is why I asked if they had any control over it. Maybe in the future using a live stream service that doesn't take ad dollars from Gold Sellers? Ad dollars stolen from you and me.

As with a staggering amount other web sites, it appears that Justin.tv uses Google's (or a comparable) ad aggregation algorithm, which places advertisements "intelligently" based upon the subject matter of a page. Ergo, "World of Warcraft" will have ads taken out by gold sellers placed upon pages containing that term. This is the kind of issue that comes up when ad space is filled automatically.
Thottbot, Allakazam, and other similar sites have shared this issue in the past, and may still today.
Still. They kind of ESRB'd this one, didn't they?

The ads are very much out of our control, and it's a problem we would have with any streaming service of decent quality. The ad revenue doesn't go to us, as a note. It's purely Justin.tv. We don't profit off of them.
Our options are deal with gold selling ads or not stream. Not streaming is a pretty lame option.

What about a site like Ustream? I watch QC get drawn on there and it gets a fair amount of guests, while still remaining stable, and not being completely crappy. Also so far I haven't seen any adds from anything wow related on the site.

We managed to do this with no funsuckers at all!

These INSANE groups happen later than I can stay up on a weeknight, so I tend to stream it while I am at work just for something other than A/C and copier noises to listen to in my dinky little office.
I downloaded Stormrage as an audiobook to listen to, but to be fair, I think Robin is much more amusing to listen to than the guy voicing Tyrande, even if Tryande sounds like a very breathy Pinocchio.
Even though Wither can't join in the fun/help out, the babbling is super cheerful. So thanks Robin!
