Yumfries is back with another episode of Nub Tales, this one with a longer, more detailed storyline. Nub Tales ep. 6: Two Durids One Heal is the tale of a senior feral druid trying to lay down some wisdom on a younger restoration druid. There's a certain amount of irony to a DPSer talking about how uber they are, only to find themselves getting mercilessly roughed up by a boss.
My favorite moment comes when the restoration druid explains the infinite power of healers. Not only does the healer have the option to save someone's life, they have the option to not do so. DPS rarely find themselves in that situation.
Nub Tales is always great fun, and I look forward to each installment.

Well, the end credits were. Not sure about the background music, you may be right. It added a kind of moody atmosphere that's for sure. I was so excited to recognize that old Weezer song that I forgot there was any other music in the video. Hearing that short bit of remixed Weezer made me smile at an already good video.
Other than the fact that 'Druid' and 'Newbie' are purposely spelled wrong in the title because of..well...because it's all the rage now, it was one of the better WoW's vids I've seen and one of the better voice acting (the feral , anyway) I've heard.
I've a Priest friend who exemplifies the moral here. He rolled a healer so he could have power over life and death. He frequently chooses not to heal people he doesn't like (in 5-man randoms, this is usually everyone).
Wherever did this idea that healers are compassionate, self-sacrificing team players come from?
A) The Only-Ever-Been-a-Healer; Their rage is built by wipes being blamed on them and n00b dpsers asking for heals. B) The Played-one-other-role-healer; Tank/Healer- They hate all dps life. Beware. The DPS/Healer- They often have power trips, and delight in not healing the bad tanks. C) The I-play-all-three-healer; They hate everyone. Yes, everyone, including you. Be nice, don't do any mistakes, and they may be fairly pleasant. But one messed up move... These are the most fearsome as they actually know DPS, so yes, they do know when you messed up. They also know tanking, so yes, they also know when you messed up. Don't get on their bad side.
All three are prone to evil laughter over vent should they have the option not to heal someone.
Yeah I gotta agree. I've absolutely loved every Nub Tales so far so I got really excited to see a new one, but it just wasn't that funny nor were the captions slightly different than what was being said (which seemed like a staple of these videos). Anyways, it wasn't bad, it just didn't live up to my expectations. I look forward to Episode 7.
I have to agree... This one was disappointing. Not very funny, and the feral druid's parts were borderline obnoxious. I felt a bit embarrassed to watch it. :(

The music was a nice touch, I think it was the theme from K-Pax... that Kevin Spacey film from like, 2001.

"oooooo eeeeee oooooo I like just like Buddy Holly"
It's a techno remix of a Weezer song.

Definitely the K-Pax theme. Completely made this video, imho.

That really captures the fragile relationship between dps and heals. I've definitely let a few corpse walk back to prove a point.

And lo, the legacy of Alamo trucks ever onward, making 'nubs' look foolish amongst thier peers and permitting pseudo-trollish Lulz.
Alamo. Google it. Educate yourself. Durids are, in fact, for fite. Then we can begin the healing process.

Cat durid is 4 fite! Cat durid is no 4 moonfare spam

I don't know.
If you ask me, healer's fall in to three camps.

I myself am C.

MUCH BETTER Jul 14th 2010 1:28PM
Thank you, for once, not a BELF Rap video.
Elleyna Jul 14th 2010 1:38PM
Even though I wasn't crazy about the video, I couldn't agree more with this statement.
Jennifer Jul 14th 2010 1:28PM
Worst one yet - I love the nub tales, but this one is just SOOOO moralistic and blah. Frankly, couldn't even make it through the entire thing.
RoseClown Jul 14th 2010 1:34PM
....you missed the entire point of the video, didn't you? -_-

If you "love the nub tales", then why did you say "worst one yet"?
I see no love there.
