New Battle.net site is live
The URL may include the word "beta," but the new Battle.net site is live and seems to be fully functional. Some changes we've noticed at first glance are:
We don't know as of yet when the old Battle.net site will be phased out, but we'll keep you posted.
- Complete change to the interface and navigation.
- You can check a box to stay logged in.
- It gives the status of their franchises.
We don't know as of yet when the old Battle.net site will be phased out, but we'll keep you posted.

Robin, Indeed it does. apologies i did not see this the first time i went there.
Up until this year, wow.com has always provided information for both EU players as well as US players on a regular basis. I could count on you to provide details of extended maintenance and outages for both Tuesday as well as Wednesday. I could keep up to date on the news while i was at work so there were no surprises when i went home to log in.
This i believe was due to the European bloggers that you had, including The T and Patick Beja. I appreciate that The majority of the information you provide is not region specific, however it would still be nice to provide updated information that covers all your readership.
On a side note, you guys do a great job. Keep up the good work.

The new design is quite a bit all over the place - lots of frames and buttons and links in all kinds of weird places, that change around from screen to screen. Someone really forgot (or never knew) about web usability (and accessibility) when they designed this one.
And the biggest bug is that is still does not give me beta access! /cry
Shrike Jul 15th 2010 3:33PM
You wouldn't be able to tell. I do have beta access, and it doesn't show on the beta Battle.net, but does on the normal.
cendrekai Jul 15th 2010 2:33PM
It's so pretty! *touches everything*
Kyle Jul 15th 2010 2:36PM
It's pretty slick looking. I really like it! Wish that they put more stuff in the D3 and WoW pages though, they seem pretty empty. I know Neither Cat or D3 are out, but some more info on those pages would be great.

As usual... no European site up....

Read the other comments before making one. Thank you.

Neat. Shiny. But it will not be an "improved" battle.net until I have my Cataclysm beta access.
ScytheNoire Jul 15th 2010 2:38PM
Still no way to remove a game from your account. Why is this still overlooked?
Shrike Jul 15th 2010 3:22PM
This. It would be nice to get that SC2 beta off my list, since the community is so toxic I'm never playing the game online.
Drakkenfyre Jul 15th 2010 3:41PM
The StarCraft 2 beta will be removed once the game comes out.
Do you think the game will come out, and it will still remain free on your account?
Drakkenfyre Jul 15th 2010 5:49PM
Oh, and reguardless of whether or not you will play the game online, you have to be online to play it. It will remain in your list if you purchase it.
K2 Jul 16th 2010 2:39PM
I'm looking for that delete option right now; while browsing the new battle net site my 4 year old commandeered my mouse and clicked "Add Trial" a bunch of times, and now when I log into my game I have to select from my "real" account and various Vanilla trial accounts named WOW1-WOW8. Eeek.
The Hammer Jul 15th 2010 2:46PM
C'mon Blizzard, implement out-of-game Battle.net chat already!
Samael Jul 15th 2010 2:48PM
All of you clicking on those links will more than likely be those of the player base who get hacked. Even though this is WoW Insider I'm not logging into any site but the official battle.net
The rest of you are too trusting.
Damian Jul 15th 2010 3:01PM
It IS the official battle.net. Type it into your browser if you're that worried about it.
Transit Jul 15th 2010 3:13PM
@Damian
I went to blizzard.com and clicked onto the battle net button. Old battle net site. An official link to this would be most welcome if you can find it. So far Blizzard seems to be keeping this pretty quiet if it is online.
Not that I am saying it is not a real blizzard site, I am just saying I would be more comfortable with a link from a blizzard source. Until then I can wait.

The point of a beta is that people that do not understand that there will be issues with the site (e.g currently the search box is being clipped in certain browsers).
Also. The URL: http://beta-us.battle.net/en/
http://

There is a link from a Blizzard source if you are a friend of the official WoW page on Facebook. They provide a link to a contest there, which is accessible from the beta version of the new battle.net. :)
