So, yesterday's Nub Tales didn't seem to appeal to everyone. The storyline was a little too serious for some people, and the whole thing ended up feeling philosophical. Other folks just didn't dig the jokes that were told. That's all right. To each his own. But Yumfries has switched up his style again with Nub Tales ep. 4.1: You're a Noob!
If you think you recognize that female voice but can't quite place it, let me help you. EmberIsolte dropped by to help voice the female portions of the song. I think it's pretty awesome that Yumfries is getting so many different people involved with his series. It helps build a sense of community and involvement and lends Nub Tales a strong reputation.
As always, I love this series and can't wait to see more.

It's such a shame when classical greats are butchered by people who can't rhyme and lack the vocabulary to articulate their musicals with any grace and style.
Maybe I have bad taste, but this was funny. Using "The Blue Danube" as the theme for the GM was inspired, the formality lending a certain gravitas to his entry. Eine kleine Nachtmusik int the first act highlights the frivolity of the bickering between the two.
^THIS so much. The earlier posters don't really say much other than "Classical music is sacred, don't make bad vids with it!" You however proved that this music can be quite a powerful tool in setting moods and shaping the stories of machinima.
Before you jump all over this one, you have to notice that with the number 4.1, this video is simply designed to be a filler. He has several very short ones just like this.
Check out 5.2 -- I have never laughed so hard at a WoW vid. The part that parodies the WotLK intro movie (you know, "My son...") had me rolling on the floor...
I enjoyed it. Nub Tales usually gets a chuckle out of me. It was nice to see a video that bothered to include classical music, especially since most videos tend to focus on other genres. They used it to illustrate emotion/description of the characters. The point wasn't to create a serious lyrical effort, but rather to put emphasis on the situation. Just my opinion :)

Case in point.
Sorry, but it's bad.

That was... terrible
The words don't even remotely fit the music and I didn't think it was very funny either
Sorry ):

I dunno.... the sheer and utter pointlessness of it made me laugh at the end.
Maybe i'm easily amused. Which, i find, is a good thing: i can laugh more.

Classical music snobs take themselves too seriously.
This was a little parody video and nothing more. Relax.
paul Jul 16th 2010 3:23PM
Didn't find it funny. Well made, and well sung, just not funny.
Oni Stardust Jul 16th 2010 3:48PM
