Everything I've read so far says not to hold your breath on that one. Apparently Squeenix hasn't learned much from FFXI.

Personally, a thinly veiled re-hashed Vana'diel doesn't really thrill me as a setting, which is what my biggest problem with FFXI was (aside from the maddening inability to play by yourself). If they ever set an MMO in Ivalice, I might be willing to overlook the sillier gameplay aspects they seem to be so fond of.
