MapleStory was also my first MMO love, and I must admit that I do at times consider heading back there just to absorb the oh-so-colorful and pretty cartoon environments. Thing is, I HATE how if you don't play for a while you have to reinstall the entire dang client, because God forbid you be able to download two subsequent patches! You miss one patch and the client will never be compatible with any future patches, so it's back to the initial bajillion-MB download!
Actually, the only reason I left MapleStory to begin with was that my desktop croaked, and I replaced it with a laptop. Just could never get used to playing with all my NumPad keybinds missing. But now that I've been on WoW for over a year, I cannot believe how much grinding I was willing to suffer to level!
If you made it to the 60's, perhaps you will remember that Hoodoos and Voodoos gave 600-something xp, while everything else in the same level range gave 300-400 something. So you would cram your entire inventory with food and drink so you could spend HOURS in the same tiny, dark mansion room waiting for the same four Hoodoos/Voodoos to respawn over and over and over again, and you would defend that room with everything you had, because there were always twenty people lined up to take it from you!
But I ramble, my apologies. I do miss some aspects of that game (I still think it was the prettiest game I ever played), but WoW so completely and utterly eclipses it that I doubt I'll ever actually go back, even temporarily.
