After problems with the DKP system in BC my guild's leadership started looking at alternative loot systems for Wrath. When Ulduar was released my guild switched to NKS, and the amount of loot drama plummeted. The officers were much less stressed, and everyone enjoyed the system a lot more then the old DKP system we were working with. The only problem that NKS had was trying to explain it to people, eventually the Raid Leaders just made a macro of the rules and spammed it when anyone asked. However, I got the feeling everyone only learned it when they saw it in action. For most raiders when loot dropped it was a simple roll with karma, roll without karma, pass. I think there was even an addon that the RL/ML used to keep track of each person's karma and would auto modify the rolls for the RL/ML.

NKS is a brilliant system, and I find it to be one of the better choices out there -- barring LC, which is my second choice. It can take a bit of explaining, but once players get it, you get it and the system takes over from there.
