I thought WOTLK did revive it sufficiently, what with the new (vastly vastly improved for Horde esp.) feral druid looks and buff of kitty to top-tier end-game raid dps. Though bear did suffer a little IMO, but I see them a plenty.

Does a long-haired Cata-kitty require a catacomb?

I consistently top damage meters as Feral, doing 8k+ on Halion, 12k+ in ICC. Its not that Kitties are dead .. we are just overlooked. I am still waiting for wow.com to publish a dedicated kitty article and show the world how amazing our furry comrades really are!!

Sounds like you're an exceptionally good cat. In Wrath, I watched cats like you post insane numbers... And I could never come close. I'm a mainspec bear, so kitty always seemed like a natural choice for my offspec. But no matter how hard I tried, how much theorycrafting I read, addons I downloaded... I couldn't come close. Not even remotely close. Finally gave up, hung my head in resignation, and switched my offspec from kitty to resto. Had a much better time of it.

I do hope that they make feral DPS more forgiving in Cataclysm (as they claim to be doing). Granted, I'm doing something wrong, and because I'm doing something wrong, I shouldn't be doing the DPS that you're doing. But the gulf between an "okay" kitty and a great one shouldn't be so absurd.
