First up: a guild meetup masterpiece from Gwenythe and her friends at <SELECT geeks FROM WoW> of Icecrown (US-A). This cake was no Unstable Experiment. "It took four months to plan, one month of gum paste molding and drying, 10 hours of baking and about an hour before someone finally cut into it after reveal," summarizes Gwenythe of the Putricide-themed delight. "It weighed approximately 50 pounds and was 18 by 26 inches around. The front half/lower tier of the cake was 4 inches high; the back half was 8 inches."
If the thought of digging into anything having to do with Professor Putricide sends shivers down your spine, let us assure you of the goodness involved. The cake itself was made of both white cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. The decorations were edible, as well. The figurines were made of gum paste, with Rice Krispie treat cores in the larger figures. The two "test tubes" in the back were made of Jell-O.

Sabira made this cake for <Infraction> of Deathwing (US) to celebrate the June birthdays of some guildies plus the group's getting back into raiding after a break. The raiders are represented by Little People toys from Fisher-Price, and there's lime Jell-O for a slime pool inside part of the cake. The two oozes are also made of lime Jello.
Happy birthday, PatrickAs a surprise for his birthday, the wife of WoW.com reader Patrick invited some friends over for a WoW-themed party that included these cupcakes plus interact tags (Rhino Dogs, Kungaloosh) on the food. "She scores extra bonus points because she knows nothing about WoW other than that I play it way too much," Patrick reports. "She loses a couple of bonus points for buying the blue icing instead of the red, though she spent several minutes apologizing profusely about it."
All's well that ends well. "As a side note: the cupcakes were, indeed, tasty," he says. "The happy buff lasted more than two hours."

That Rotface cake is hilarious. The different sized slimes and bear tank are especially nice touches.
[Can you still eat the Jello bits if you aren't an abomination?]
