The Queue: A WoW.com debut
Great news, everyone! As you all know, your intrepid WoW.com staff is constantly striving to improve the level of service we bring you. We are devoted to bringing you the very last in cutting edge video content. As such, we are delighted to present the above video as our early-stage beta. Exciting, isn't it? Be sure to leave your feedback on our beta progress.
I understand Imma Sock may be the worst Imma Be cover ever performed, but it was fun.
Shizzle asked:
"Has there been a definitive list compiled detailing which pre-Cataclysm achievements will be achieveable once the expansion hits and which ones will move into the realm of Feats of Strength?"
No, not at all. It's probable that not even Blizzard truly knows that for certain yet. This kind of thing is a pretty big deal, since content changes will happen even after the expansion releases. It's just way too early to even guess.
Penguinairsauce asked:
"What's the news on Cairne Bloodhoof. I heard that Garrosh was supposed to kill him, but that was ages ago and I'm not sure about this in the Cataclysm beta. I just wonder if he is still alive."
He is not alive.
That being said, the scandal of "Who is responsible for Cairne's death?" is going to rage on in the lore nerd community forever. I'm in the "they all killed him" camp, since it's such a complex issue. Garrosh didn't swing the killing blow, but he sure did help polish the blade.
Jenzrr asked:
"I run an addon that collects the data concerning the nodes that I come across in my various gathering professions (but also chests and the sort). With the revamp of the old world, do you think I will have to re-research all my data"
Oh yes. Oh, my, yes. Absolutely. The old data will not be in any way relevant. The nodes have moved completely as a result of it being completely redesigned. And, also, the world splitting in half has had an impact.
Skurfer48 asked:
"Also, with the changes to loot in 10 and 25 man raids in Cataclysm, will a 10 and 25 version of the same boss have the exact same loot table? Or will they have different loot that is just of the same item level?"
The way it was explained is that they'll have the exact same loot table. 25 man versions will drop more pieces. But every item will drop from both versions in about the same proportion.
Blacksword asked:
"Are the worgen quests in Grizzly Hills going to change at all when the worgen race becomes playable?"
Those are different werewolf people. They wear those kicky little leather masks and S&M claws. Gilnean worgen wear top hats and corsets. Relatively totally unrelated werewolf people.

Sir/madame not just was this completely related to anything in the warcraft community, let alone the blizzard community and as an added plus (more like minus) what is with the ineligible punctuation?
Please leave the warcraft community, you make grunk sad. :(
Phort Jul 20th 2010 11:06AM
Wow, Cairne's DEAD? Id really like to know how this happens! I mean, I may play Alliance but thats kinda harsh, killing off a whole faction leader.
....Good thing I already got my FtA :D
Hal Jul 20th 2010 11:12AM
I wonder if we'll get to see that happen, or just hear about it afterwards.
Also, can I get a spoiler warning on that piece of info?
Ringo Flinthammer Jul 20th 2010 11:13AM
He's not the only one who's been replaced.

Cairne challenges Garrosh to a duel in Thunder Bluff, and Garrosh wins. Cairne's hurt, and as he's resting and healing up, Magatha Grimtotem poisons him and he dies. Baine Bloodhoof is the new Tauren leader.
Also, Magni Bronzebeard gets turned into stone while performing a ritual to bring shamanism to his people. While he's petrified, the dwarves are ruled by a council of three, made up of Muradin Bronzebeard, Moira Bronzebeard (leader of the Dark Irons) and the leader of the Wildhammer dwarves.

Muse Jul 20th 2010 11:32AM
I guess Magni got his wish after all. He didn't actually want to be King, and now he doesn't have to anymore.
Grovinofdarkhour Jul 20th 2010 11:43AM
"WHILE he's petrified"?... You make it sound like a temporary thing.
Dave Jul 20th 2010 11:47AM
@Grov - You've never heard of Han Solo?
Grovinofdarkhour Jul 20th 2010 12:36PM

Counting Thrall that's TWO faction leaders undergoing severe change Horde side. (Technically speaking we've had one change here Alliance side this year with the return of Wyrnn.
Dollars to donuts, this won't be the last before the next chapter plays itself out.

It seems out of character for the tauren race to stand for this. If their leader had such a problem with Garrosh that he challenged him to a duel and lost, why are the rest of the tauren not behind their leader? Why would they complacently just fall in line behind Garrosh's leadership when their recently fallen leader paid his life, in part, because he took so much offense to Garrosh that he challenged a much younger Garrosh to a duel even at his old age? Shouldn't that be a wake up call to the tauren people that all is not well here? Are all taurens really just dumb cows? Even if Thrall felt he NEEDED to leave the horde to fulfill his role as planetary protector, couldn't he have appointed a better interim leader. Saurfang? Vol Jin? A basic campfire? Was it shortsighted, or just a stupid decision making leaving Garrosh in charge of the people he loves and has devoted much of his life to?
I guess we should just make peace, as Horde, that perhaps the two of the most honorable and noble faction leaders in the World of Warcraft are gone. Instead, at the forefront, we now have Sylvanas and Garrosh. Both of whom seem maniacal, aggressive, and evil. Is this the new direction of the horde? Seems like a big middle finger to those who rolled horde out of love for figures like Thrall and Cairne. Blizzard seems to want to make Horde truly and completely evil and they are just going to peel away any and all lore in their way of that goal. Even if that means making Thrall suddenly incapable of making intelligent decisions and the entire tauren race mindless sheep. It just seems like bad writing on Blizzards part.

but...
my FAVOURITE FACTION LEADER :'(
why blizzard?
why?
jealouspirate Jul 20th 2010 4:15PM
@Hawkeye
While I love the Tauren as much as the next guy, they apparently don't really have much power or influence in the Horde. They swore to join because the Orcs saved them from extinction. I kind of think of it as like a Wookie life debt kind of relationship.
Overall, the Tauren just don't really fit into the Horde anymore. Forsaken and Goblins? I mean, come on. Any respectable Tauren would be horrified and heartbroken to see Azshara after the Goblins arrived. Or to see what the Forsaken are doing in the EK... they hoped to cure the Forsaken of undeath, not help create more undead. Even the Orcs are doing their fair share of resource plundering in Cataclysm.
Alanid Jul 20th 2010 4:50PM
If you've scrolled down this far and not noticed spoilers then... well... I'm not going to put a spoiler warning in this comment, but Thrall seems to be pretty pissed off at the Alliance too because during the goblin starter area the alliance capture him and he is NOT happy, put it that way.
Hawkeye Jul 20th 2010 4:54PM
@jealouspirate
I agree that the Horde has a lot to work out. I always liked that about them. The checkered past. Orcs, trolls, an even the blood elves have had a questionable history but all of the seem to be taking steps to restore their honor. The forsaken I always figured were pissed off, and for reasonably good reasons. I always Imagined that maybe they too would eventually seek redemption. Especially when Sylvanas' sister started playing a stronger role in the lore. I can see that now, with this expansion, even that outcome is highly unlikely.
Lore wise what Blizzard is doing is pretty lame. They are taking away some of our most beloved leaders and giving the moral high ground to Alliance. All of a sudden, in ICC, Varian is magnanimous and benevolent to the Horde. Really? The horde guy (Saurfang Jr.) is corrupted, and the alliance guy (Bolvar) resists. I know the Alliance lore, and I know they have a shady history as well. The Alliance has their own sins to atone for. But Blizzard seems intent on making the Alliance look like choir boys and the Horde like evil scumbags. Which is a sharp turn from lore up to this point.

BIG OLE SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!
Some of you may like this juicy detail:
"In the current Beta build, there is a quest where the Alliance provides the Grimtotems with weapons to fight against the Horde. It is at this point that the Grimtotem them self say they will align with the Alliance"
Interesting, no?

This quest line seems to TRY to make Garrosh likeable, but so far Blizzard is still at fault for not showing us his sudden turn around. Hopefully there will be more to expand on this change, but I still think it will be hard to overcome people's current feelings towards him.
And I still hate that they're killing Cairne, and especially since they're not even giving him a big send off. Weakened from a duel (with Garrosh?!?!) and then poisoned? Lame. I was hoping for a grand assassin punting marathon off the Bluff. Sounds corny, but I hope he can do an Obi-Wan like trick and be with Thrall "in spirit" because of both their shamanistic powers.
