The Queue: S'more

Once upon a time, Hawaiian pizza was all the rage here at The Queue. Well ... okay, I won't lie, Hawaiian pizza is still all the rage here at The Queue, but now we have dessert, too. I've been inspired by Streetza Pizza, a local food truck here in Milwaukee, and will be making s'mores pizza this evening. I'll report back on how it goes.
FluffedMojo asked:
"Are AoE pulls gone in favor of legitimate strategy in 5-mans?"
I assume when you say "strategy" you mean crowd control. That's a hard question to answer right now for a couple of reasons. We haven't seen any level cap heroics in the beta yet, only leveling content. The leveling instances need to be tuned low so people of varying gear levels can do them successfully. If you have any Wrath of the Lich King raid gear, you're overgeared for the instances. If you have any tier 9 from triumph emblems, you're overgeared for the instances. Just about any group you will get for available content, most of the group members will be overgeared. That's not a great environment to figure out whether crowd control will be necessary or not.
So far, speaking only from my personal experience, most groups will not need crowd control in leveling content. If anybody needs to use more strategy in these groups it will be the tank, because knowing your cooldowns makes using any sort of crowd control even more unnecessary. It's much easier for me to use Shield Wall on a pull I know will be challenging than get my PUG to sort out Polymorphs or Saps. That sort of thing might only be possible due to overgearing, so who knows.
TomiToikka asked:
"Has there been any signs of the worgen racial mount yet?"
None. Just about every level 20+ worgen you see in the beta is using a night elf mount temporarily.
Many asked:
"With so much going on with the world leaders these days, what's up with Lor'themar Theron? What is he doing in Cataclysm?"
You know, I have no idea. As far as I know he isn't doing anything at all in Cataclysm. If he is doing anything, it's nothing on the level of the other leaders. He might still be preoccupied with the regeneration of the Sunwell like we saw in the Quel'Delar quest chain and we'll see that culminate at another time outside of the Cataclysm.
flutterbytweets asked:
"Is it true that Death Knights in Cataclysm will start at level 1 instead of level 55?"

Are any of the old factions starting zones updated yet? If so how are they?
Been hearing a lot about the Goblins and the Worgen and i've seen a tiny bit of the troll one
are the rest of them the same so far?
phoenixblight Jul 21st 2010 1:10PM
There are streams of the starting zones, all of them are essentially the same except for a few quests added here and there.

I've done a hint of the tauren startup. It has been changed. Shrunk the questing space around Narache, so it's not so huge. And you dont have to do such a huge run around to bloodhoof. I havent gone beyond that. But there's also a new little village in the far north, so I suspect there's more there. Let alone likely a breadcrumb quest and a shuttle-ride into Stonetalon or something.

That video should help you, it shows what has changed for the Old Races starting zones.

gnome starting got implemented in the last patch, worgen, goblin and troll are mostly finished, lacking a few cutscenes. all the others have changed in the details (like blackrock orcs replacing defias in northshire) but most of the general quest frames for the zones remain the same.
prenden2 Jul 21st 2010 1:28PM
Totalbiscuit's Youtube channel has some great videos of all the new areas; you'll find them on his "Totalhalibut" channel.
P.S. It's so sad to see what's happened to Mulgore. Damn you Deathwing!

by quest frames i mean the model for questing i.e. kill this, kill this and collect its X, collect X on the ground, and escort/retrieve this. they've added a few newer types of quests to starting areas, like in the human you use a extinguisher to put out fire, but they are all basically the same. nicer looking tho, and they're apparently not 100% done.

Gnome starting zone last patch!?!? XD
Well on a side note... here's a question for the queue...
When is there going to be another live beta stream on WoW.com? I really, really love those.

Speaking of, are we getting new intro cinematics? Some of them (human: "child king", gnome: Gnomeregan, undead: Lich King, blood elves: Sunwell) are now inaccurate while others (troll, orc) seem very outdated.
Tayla Jul 21st 2010 4:03PM
Yea, we are getting new cinematics, i think they mentioned it in one of the developer chats or something.

Damn it, Alex, now I'm hungry. I'm sure that s'more pizza would make a horrible breakfast, but I want one anyway.
elvendude Jul 21st 2010 2:58PM
...I'm so making one of these. That looks super tasty.
MusedMoose Jul 21st 2010 7:01PM
What elvendude said. Hope it goes well enough for you to post the recipe, Mr. Ziebart, 'cause that looks gorramn delicious. I want to take it to a work potluck and blow peoples' minds.

What is it like working for Wow.com? Do you regularly get together and have board meetings or something like that or is it more like conference calls? I'm not sure how many, if any, of you live near each other so how do you all handle the day by day workings of the website?
Bernie Roscoe Jul 21st 2010 1:29PM
I've been wondering this myself.
feniks9174 Jul 21st 2010 3:01PM
I know for a fact (based on comments by various employees) that those at wow.com live all over the country. I believe I remember something about meetings over IRC.
Duulket Jul 21st 2010 1:14PM
You had me at "Once upon a time"
Arathanar Jul 21st 2010 1:20PM
S'mores... so delicious.
Spoilers... so exhilarating.
Is it true Moira Thaurissan (né Bronzebeard) pulls a Palpatine and tries to delay Ironforge's warmaking ability, causing SI:7 to assassinate her?
cartmensfoe Jul 21st 2010 9:53PM
*spoilers*
from what i've seen, moira is alive and well, she is woking together with muradin and falstad wildhammer to rule ironforge after magni gets encased in carbon... err... stone while performing a ritual. There are however a group of dark irons who are not so friendly with everyone else and decided against moira's kindness, they are currently attacking ironforge airport from what i can see
