Breakfast Topic: Yellow car, I win!
This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW.com.
A few months ago, a friend introduced me to Yellow Car, I Win! The main point of the game, clearly, is to shout the titular phrase every time you see a yellow car or other yellow vehicle. There are rules, however. The way we play the game, players cannot call school buses, construction equipment or taxis. What qualifies as a yellow "car" varies, also; the vehicle has to have wheels and/or an engine, so a yellow bicycle would work, as well as a yellow speedboat or jet ski, but a yellow kayak would not. Once a person has the rules down, it just comes down to spotting the relatively uncommonly colored vehicle before anyone else in the car. Even when I'm alone or not playing with other passengers, the game is in the back of my head.
Now one day while I was thinking about this, I wondered if there were any similar games going on in Azeroth. I realize that there aren't a lot of yellow mounts in game, but there must be some games people play while running around Dalaran waiting for the next Wintergrasp or ICC run. Maybe a spontaneous game of I Spy or Catch Phrase in guild chat every now and then?
So, this is my question for you, fellow WoW players: Do you and your friends have any games or activities you like to do to fill those short, in-between times, or even to spice up regular activities?

I don't really remember my friends and I having any games to play while waiting in Dalaran or wherever, but I've always enjoyed the trivia addon.

It's not fun when it's spammed with stuff like Pokemon. It comes back every once in awhile on my server. Sometimes it gets bad and multiple people are running it. Lots of spam reports then.

Hm. I'm not sure we're talking about the same addon. The trivia addon that I was referring to were packed with questions regarding the lore of Warcraft and stuff like that.

Azeroth tag is always fun.
Simply put, one person has a leather ball, he has to tag other players (all in a raid group) by throwing it to him. The players are allowed to run around azeroth.
Optional rules include no portals/hearting, or you can play it in dalaran instead of a whole continent.

Either my husband or myself will run the YAQA (Yet Another Quiz Addon) addon when things are slow, generally boring or if it's requested. It's a fun quiz covering a variety of categories, and is always a big hit with the guild.

I had no idea Yellow car was this universal..
Since our guild is pretty ruthless (not in bad heartless bastard way tho) we always inspect people who yell for huge GS numbers for that ICC/ToC10 run and achies. If we find someone with "wrong gear" or gems and all that we link them in guild chat and facepalm together.
Like that one time someone wanted 5.2k gs for ICC10 and we inspected SHAMAN with badge gear SPIRIT gear and green quality gems and that talent that makes you melee crit raise when you crit with spells...(why is it on elemental tree anyway..)
Then again I guess thats pretty common.

Relevance? Very little!

Back in Vanilla, me and my friends used to have a drinking game similar to yellow car.
Where you took a shot every time you saw someone wearing full epics standing in town.
We stopped playing after someone died of alcohol poisoning. Damn welfare epics killed my friend.

I like to play the laugh at the Celestial Steed game. Anytime I see someone riding one, I laugh at them.
elstor Jul 23rd 2010 8:19AM
When you were level one, we gave you bread and milk. We gave you hearthstones to ease your tired feet. And now you betray us? You are bound to our Terms of Service, and you may no longer /laugh ever again. Mwahaha

@elstor
You win. Simple as that.

we used to play "re-roll"
basicly 2 players (or more)
u both chip in a gold... and /roll for highest
A /roll = 50
B /roll = 45
highest wins HOWEVER, you can pay another gold to re-roll ^_^ 2 re-roller PER PLAYER
it was so simple but was so fun
A roll - 50, B-45, B-10, B-55! CHEERING!!!! A-56.....
funkface Jul 23rd 2010 8:21AM
I lost a lot of money in that game... >_<
Dang tempting "double-or-nothing" rules!
andy Jul 23rd 2010 8:24AM
HAHA i think pointysticks "why not raise the stakes" 100G per roll games were crazy... him and bloody JC fortunes!!!!!
SmokeyMcdugen Jul 23rd 2010 9:41AM
What we do is just /roll just once, but we throw down a minimum of 1k. It usually leads to double or nothing rolls after that. Entertaining to watch 10k get lost/won. :-)

We have a Game called "The Game"
Rules:
- If you think of The Game you lose the Game.
- If you lose the Game then you have to Announce that you lost the Game.
- You can't win "The Game"... you just don't lose if you aren't thinking of the game.
By writing this I've lost the game... DAMMIT
Darky Jul 23rd 2010 8:24AM
I won the game for a while when i suffered from memory loss :P
H Jul 23rd 2010 8:25AM
Damn you! I hadn't lost the game for ages!
AARGH!
sead Jul 23rd 2010 11:17AM
Since I started... the longest I've gone without losing is only a week... usually lose atleast once a day.
Molly Jul 23rd 2010 8:59AM
You can win The Game, though. You just stop playing The Game. Then you start telling people about how you stopped playing The Game, which makes anyone who is playing think of The Game and lose.
Yeah, I'm kind of a bastard sometimes :)
