The Queue: Airwolf

Image self-explanatory. No one expects the 58th Rocket Werewolf Battalion.
Xiona asked:
"I noticed blizzard changed the worgen male model, is there any chance they are going to change the female model? I'm quite happy with its aesthetic, and I hope they don't. Has there been any signs of this happening?"
Seems likely. It appears that the reason why Blizzard has held off giving males any more customization option and making females available at all is because they're working on a new aesthetic for them. We won't be sure until the female worgen legitimately become available for testing, though.
Thatacus asked:
"Since in Cataclysm we will have a lot more underwater fighting and stuff, will we be able to eat while in the water or anything? It would be kind of lame to surface and have to swim to land just to eat every time. Maybe they could have it where you can eat when you surface or something."
Yes, there's special underwater food available for Vashj'ir.
Rodrigo asked:
"What happens with the Mountaineers who have been fighting the rogue black drake for the last 5 years we see when flying from Ironforge to Stormwind? Are they still there?"
The most satisfying moment of my time in beta so far was flying up to that canyon and killing that damned rogue black drake I'd been unable to touch for five years.
Johnnytorrance asked:
"Does anyone know where Thrall is going and doing on his leave of absence?"
He's on a quest to heal the world after the Cataclysm. The first time you meet him is on your introductory quest to Deepholm, where you see him maintaining a dimensional rift in the center of the Maelstrom, letting adventurers through to assist the Earthen Ring in reassembling the World Pillar.

Is 310% mount speed available for us scrubs from a trainer?
Tribunal Jul 23rd 2010 11:33AM
It's supposed to be
And you're supposed to be grandfathered in if you already have one.
But we all know how "supposed to" has worked out in the past *cough*air combat, etc*cough*

Im not sure if I like this so much. I think participating in certain aspects of the game should yield rewards that aren't easily attainable by just buying them. Things like titles, mounts, and gear are examples of this.
Im not saying that that 310 mounts should only be attainable by raiders. I just think that they should require something extraordinary or difficult. Make 310 mounts be attainable through a great pvp rating. Make them obtainable through an extensive and very difficult quest chain. I just feel like some things should be special, a mark of achievement. I'll probably be downranked for this. but I believe the coolest rewards should be attainable only after a demonstration of skill in some aspect of the game. And there are many aspects of this game that would suffice. Farming up herbs to 10k gold or getting a lucky BoE shouldn't be enough.

Agreed that there should be many ways to achieve 310% flying, PVP, PVE, raiding, looooong epic questline, but training shouldn't be one.
Artificial Jul 23rd 2010 3:58PM
@Hawkeye: Like it requires more skill to get a lucky drop killing some mob you out level and out gear completely than it does to farm herbs. Give me a break...
I agree there should be rewards for skill-based achievements. But this isn't one of them. This is already obtainable by luck rather than skill. It's too late the close the barn door here, the horses have already fled. Time to make new rewards for future, and let the older goodies become easier for everyone. This is already old-hat by one expansion, and it's about to become two expansions old, and ridiculously easy to obtain even if it wasn't trainable (or do you really think fully geared 85's won't just rolfstomp Kael'thas? please...) Might as well just make it trainable at this point.

"Agreed that there should be many ways to achieve 310% flying, PVP, PVE, raiding, looooong epic questline, but training shouldn't be one."
Well, it is already this way: the best teams in Arena, raiders that complete a list of achievements and the epic chain quest ... if you consider all holidays a huge questline (I know that sometimes it's all about luck/patience/help of fellow players and this would be the major challengue for the achievements), that's it.
Mitawa Jul 23rd 2010 4:26PM
Yeah, 310% is attainable for more than just raiders.
Doing all the holiday achievements requires a year of dedication, but it's something that -any- level 80 can do.
Violet proto ftw. :)
Zanathos Jul 23rd 2010 7:51PM
it's been a special perk for 2 expansions, it had a good run
Konungr Jul 23rd 2010 10:52PM
@ Everyone who thinks the 310% speed mount is only obtainable through raiding or doing all the holiday events for a year, HC PVPer's, i.e. Arena Teams, can obtain one by becoming Gladiators. I do not think that everyone should be given a 310% mount just for gold. And if Blizzard does continue on with this plan of action and makes it to where just anyone without any real effort can get a 310%, I sincerely hope they give the HC Raiders, PVPers, and dedicated players another incentive, maybe 350% or something to that effect.
Joshuasiclest Jul 24th 2010 1:32PM
They are not giving everyone a 310% mount... your buying the ability for all your mounts to go 310%, All those special mounts I've gotten, violet, icc, etc etc, are still just as special, not everyone will have those, everyone will just be as fast as those.
With flying being released in old world I think this is very nice especially for my alts as another gold sink for them.

I LOL'd. And I *completely* understand!
Hal Jul 23rd 2010 11:27AM
When Cataclysm finally goes live, I might just spend my first couple of days exploring the old world on a flying mount. It'll be interesting to see what Blizzard has done with all those spots we could only see while flying.
Heilig Jul 23rd 2010 11:57AM
You can jump from the Burning Steppes to a ledge that will let you get to that drake now. It takes a few tries, but ti doesn't require wall climbing or anything like that, just some practice and good timing. I went and killed that drake years ago just for good measure. I expected the alliance guys to do something interesting, but they just stood there until it respawned.
It was rather anticlimactic.
vazhkatsi Jul 23rd 2010 12:31PM
i got there yesterday by levitating there on my 51 priest. then i pulled aggro off the npcs and died
Skarlette Jul 23rd 2010 1:39PM
I did that within the first 10 minutes of logging into beta. I carefully kited the dragon over to the dwarves so they started charging at him, weapons drawn...and then one-shot him. I was like, "You're welcome. As you were."
Crimson Jul 26th 2010 4:03AM
I miss those dancing trolls you used to see when flying from moonglade to darkshore.
I think they are gone now, and I always wanted to visit that place :(
Xiona Jul 23rd 2010 11:08AM
Yay they answered me!

Question for the Queue:
When is Wow.com going to have another Beta live stream?
Ralod Jul 23rd 2010 11:09AM
So far we have heard a great deal about the Horde leaders, and their goings on. What about the Alliance leaders? Other then Magni, I don't think I have seen much at all talked about. What is Jania's reaction to the all out war that seems to be going on between the horde and allies? Is Varian raging again? How is Tyrande dealing with Malfurion returning? She is not the lovesick schoolgirl portrayed in the last Richard Knaak book is she?
Natsumi Jul 23rd 2010 12:50PM
She was a lovesick schoolgirl in WC3, why would you expect her to be different in anyone's book, let alone WoW? Everyone is down on Knaak, but most of you blame him for things that were already there in the first place or for things he was TOLD BY BLIZZARD TO PUT IN. Seriously, give the guy a break, he gets enough death threats from Star Wars fanboys for killing Chewbacca, the most worthless Star Wars character ever, and he did it in the coolest way possible. He hit him with a MOON, nothing is cooler than being crushed by a moon!
I vote Knaak writes the next book and kills Garrosh with a moon, I bet nobody would complain about that.
