I wonder is that the same airship from Northrend or if alliance was made another one?
dracoamericanus9 Jul 25th 2010 10:55PM
Yes, that is the Skybreaker last i heard of whats in Deepholm. the Orgrim's Hammer is there too but it was shot down. Filthy Alliance pigs.
Drakkenfyre Jul 25th 2010 11:29PM
The Alliance didn't shoot down Orgrim's Hammer.
This screenshot is underground, BTW.

==The Downfall of Orgrim's Hammer==
Muradin Bronzebeard: Quick get a sorcerer out to shut down their cannons!
*the sorcerer in, casts iceblock on the cannons*
Saurfang: Warriors of the Horde! Board their ship and slaughter the sorcerer!
*goblin rocket packs make a strange whirling and beeping noise*
Saurfang: What the...

@ Drakken, the Alliance did shoot down the Horde gunship, however they were tricked by the Twilight cultists. (Source: "All Our Friends Are Dead" quest in Deepholm, when contacting the Slain Crew Members some will say "They tricked us into ambushing the Horde Gunship...but why?")

FOR THE ALLIANCE!!
(Still doesnt sound right.. Hmm.. Skybreaker is a damn good name for an airship though.)
Deathknighty Jul 26th 2010 5:31AM
@AlternatingReality
Wait, so Saurfang farted?
Phoulmouth Jul 25th 2010 10:16PM
Best screenshot yet IMO. Zangar was my favorite zone back in BC and that looks quite similar.
BigBadGooz Jul 26th 2010 11:55AM
it wouldent be a expansion unless we had MUSHROOMS

Kind of reminds me of some of the Zerg buildings in Starcraft...I'm in the middle of playing through it, so maybe it's fresher in my mind than it should be.....

The variety of landscape in Cata is amazing and will be welcoming after having to spend the last 2 years in Icecrown, Dragonblight and Storm Peaks all the time. Yikes.
drudolf14 Jul 26th 2010 2:31AM
well i played beta in deepholm and i must say that this is really cool zone and atmonsphere is amazing !
Kemikalkadet Jul 26th 2010 5:14AM
Deepholm isn't open for testing yet?
Tim Grussing Jul 26th 2010 2:51AM
dear blizzard,
Underwater stuff is cool and i like bright colors and trippy/wavey water affects becuase im a stoner, but i really hope the underwater content plays a very minor role in the overall endgame lore because, honestly, its cool but its not epic. Its gimicky but its also kind of lame. I just want my character to feel like a badass engaged in an epic story. The underwater game play kills the immersion for me, to many inconsistancies the physical limitation and consequences of players fighting under water (if im wearing plate, i should sink to the bottom, the boyancy and water should impace the amination of how i swing, seeing that it is harder to swing underwater, why is it that i can stand in while swimming under water and blow a full roation without making any effort to tred water, i could go on...)
I digress, The point is, Underwater stuff is cool for a little while but all these SS and stories about the underwater zones has me worried that alot of the lore and content will be underwater, which disapoints me = ( I'd rather be on a war torn battle feild fighting in an epic encounter or climbing a mountain to slay a dragon. Theres a reason why many of our greatest epics spent most of their time fighting on dry land and not underwater casting fire bolts at mer-dinosaur.... fish men monkey frogs....

I'm in the beta and I can honestly say there is only one zone that is underwater. Granted, it's a huge zone, but you could possibly skip it all together. It's one of two lvl 80-82 zones. Just go to the other one. The only downside is there is two dungeons in the underwater zone. And you have to discover the entrance to a dungeon before you can queue for it.
There are flaws in the water zone, but it is still much better than fighting underwater on live. They added several new quest mechanics, so it's not always the same thing. And there is a lot of lore in there.

So you'll be happy to know that this is Deepholm, which is underground, not underwater.
Deathknighty Jul 26th 2010 5:33AM
Tim, my friend, in regards to your references to petty physics, allow me to explain it briefly:
A WIZARD DID IT!!
