- "In fact, as soon as you get to about level 58, you should just head on to the Outland and start picking out quest gear instead of finishing off your last two levels in Azeroth. The item level jump from one expansion to the next is just too massive, so there is no point in exerting all the effort to get the hard-to-acquire pieces from 60 when it's going to be replaced soon after."
I agree . . . To an extent. While it's certainly not worth trying to get a full raid together to run AQ for gear before jumping into OL and you dont want to spend days grinding for any particular upgrade that will be replaced before you finish Hellfire Peninsula, it IS worth bribing a guildie for a run or two through Stratholme or ZG, especially if they're rep/mount farming. You can get a little extra XP and maybe replace one or two quest greens.
I also recommend hitting up EPL for the Stratholme/Naxx quests before heading through the Dark Portal. Most are simply a matter of turn-ins (not soulbound so check the AH) and are worth a solid chunk of XP.
Hellfire peninsula at level 59 or 60 with some dungeon blues is a vastly different experience than level 58 with outdated quest greens.
