The Queue: Playing favorites

Many of you asked me to keep you updated on the status of my s'mores pizza. I come here today to report that ... I have failed. I didn't make it yet due to lack of crust ingredients. You will just have to take me answering various questions as a consolation prize.
Pheonix asked:
"I know not all of the world zones are in the beta yet, but what's your favorite zone in Cataclysm so far?"
Deepholm. No contest. I think Blizzard does its best work when it can build something truly otherworldly and let imagination run wild. As I've mentioned over and over, Zangarmarsh is my favorite zone in the game. It's because the zone is so alien. It's not just replicating a forest you could go an see in the real world. It's a completely alien environment that Blizzard has built from the ground up. Deepholm is the same. There are some oddities there that you could possibly go see in real life (like pools of mercury), but for the most part, it's a totally unique area.
Howling Fjord is pretty and all but for me it just doesn't compare to alien environs like Zangarmarsh, Netherstorm and now Deepholm.
CountChocula asked:
"Is there anything new about the Chained Essence of Eranikus in Cataclysm?"
Not that I've seen. The Eranikus story was resolved in-game with the Sceptre of the Shifting Sands quest chain. It was then followed up in the Stormrage novel. Eranikus is as done as done can be.
RogueJed86 asked:
"When you go to the Maelstrom and see Thrall, what happens if you jump off the cliff into the Maelstrom? Will you swirl to the bottom and fall into Deepholm, or are there invisible walls to keep you from jumping off?"
Jumping into the Maelstrom is the first thing I tried to do when I arrived. It went poorly. There are no invisible walls right now but there's also no real water. I fell straight through the Maelstrom graphic. And fell. And fell. And fell some more. Then I hit the bottom but didn't die because I'm a paladin with Divine Shield. Then I ran around down on the waterless ocean floor for 10 minutes while my hearthstone refreshed.
So don't jump into the Maelstrom. It is surprisingly boring.
Mortalcoil asked:
"How long has Kalecgos been on top of Wyrmrest Temple?"
He relocated there in Patch 3.3 when the Quel'Delar quest chain was implemented.
Repent asked:
"Queue battle royale. Alex Ziebart, Adam Holisky and Michael Sacco in a free for all cage match. Who wins?"
I don't think the three of us could set aside the years of camaraderie for the sake of blood sport. We'd probably just shrug and sit in a corner talking about video games. We're lovers, not fighters.

My name is Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite zone in the Cataclysm.
Merlinmast Jul 26th 2010 1:00PM
Could only be better if you went to ANOTHER zone and did the same thing just to get a zone specific item discount :-p
Itanius Jul 26th 2010 11:05AM
"We're lovers, not fighters."
That explains EVERYTHING!
FireMaster Jul 26th 2010 11:15AM
I expect this wasn't homo...
Itanius Jul 26th 2010 11:19AM
That wasn't my intent. Unless you're homophobic, then I guess it could be construed that way. Apologies.
Andrea_D Jul 26th 2010 1:10PM
There is no "no homo" in that statement. I want in on that action!
Claire Jul 26th 2010 2:48PM
I ship it!

"Unless you're homophobic, then I guess go stuck your head in a pig."
I like my version better.

"Queue battle royale. Alex Ziebart, Adam Holisky and Michael Sacco in a free for all cage match. Who wins?"
Matthew Rossi , Thats who.

"We're lovers, not fighters."
Translation: Alex freely admits that he'd get his butt kicked all over the ring.
Sleutel Jul 26th 2010 6:41PM
Personally, I'm hoping for some hot-hot man-on-man-on-man action, with photos to prove it.
uncaringbear Jul 26th 2010 6:51PM
Matthew Rossi would likely show up and destroy all three of them in a blink of an eye.

Are the towns in the revamped Vanilla zones more lively and believable?
I recently trekked an alt from dear old Azeroth to Outland and noticed how there are guards walking around Thrallmar and just NPC's doing stuff in general. It reminded me of how boring most of the towns are before then where nothing interesting is going on.
Bagelator Jul 26th 2010 11:38AM
In stormwind plenty of stuff is going on
Babaloo Jul 26th 2010 11:06AM
How much damage do you do in Cataclysm? Because Deathwing has 858 Million HP.

Bump up the quality and watch the video, it's pretty cool.
Colin Jul 26th 2010 12:42PM
Cool video, but you can't assume that is the final HP of Deathwing. Arthas shows up a dozen times in WotLK with very different health pools each time.
Jacob Parsons Jul 26th 2010 2:04PM
Actually, his health pool varied prior to either 3.1 or 3.2. After that point, it set on what I believe is the current 25-man normal health total. Every one of his appearances changed to this value.
MusedMoose Jul 26th 2010 7:24PM
How much damage do you do in Cataclysm? Clearly, the answer is "not enough." @_@
...though now I kinda hope that Deathwing manages one billion HP in some way or another. Just because it'd be funny.

Why is the Paladin thread. "The Light and How to Swing It". Always about Holy Paladins? Yeah every once in a while there is a ret or tank section but c'mon 9/10 times it is holy. And I am sorry in advance for the random capitolization and poor spelling that is common with iPhone commenting.
