Today's movie takes a little bit of background. Some years ago, an enterprising dude named Matt released an awesome world travel video. In this video, he visited dozens of locations across the globe, and filmed himself dancing there. It's not a great dance. It's not particularly skilled or smooth. Where the hell is Poke? was inspired by this video. With the
Cataclysm beta being such hot news, and everyone so curious about what the new world will look like, Poke took the time to get some Matt-esque video. I think this is a great presentation of the material, and succeeds in being a spiritual succesor to
Where the hell is Matt. It's really pretty awesome, and I'm glad we had the chance to see it.

This may seem harsh, but that movie was boring.
What Matt did in his movie is no small feat, the money and time spent traveling to each place and the size of our world is what makes it special.
Doing it in a video game doesn't have the same value.
Although I will admit I did laugh at the location shown at 3:22.

I disagree.
I'm not in the beta, so I've had to rely on screenshots and videos from others for a glimpse at the new stuff. Trust me, an 8-minute flyover video is about as boring as it gets. I like that this allowed me to see some things from an in-game perspective and had at least an element of interest to it.
I don't think the creator's intent was to be as innovative as the "Where the hell is Matt?" project because they can't--already been done. What they did was translate beta information into a familiar and more entertaining format.
Mission accomplished, in my opinion.

That was AWESOME! Gives a nice look at a lot of zones (Which BTW I was freaking drooling over Deepholm, that place looks amazingly beautiful and fantastic), I like the music, and I cant wait for Cata!

I love this because it isn't just a scrolling tour of the new zones, it actually has something going on to give the tour a sort of 'continuation'

I've seen this EXACT THING so many times. In WoW, in TF2, in Guild wars I think, and all over. I personally never found it funny. It's just backdrop changing. There's no uniqueness in ANY homage of it. I'm sorry, but I just don't see the appeal.

The point is; it's information on changed zones in the Cataclysm beta, presented in a far more engaging way than endless flyovers. Myself, I would have liked to see a few more people dancing around her to vary it up a bit - but that's a minor quibble.

All I know is I watched this, and I walked away feeling happy. It's a feelgood video that's supposed to give people an alternate look at some of the zones, and do it in a fun way. I think it accomplished that.
