The creation of WoW movies -- whether it is machinima or live-action -- stems from the author's love of game, cinema, or just raw creation. It takes a lot of love to create a WoW movie. And sometimes, just sometimes, you manage to do something unique. Sometimes, you can do something so completely awesome that it nearly defies description.
The Icecrown Gunship Battle: Now in Real Life! is one such unique movie. A guild got together and built cardboard replicas of the gunships floating above Icecrown. They loaded these replicas with firework cannons. And then they let them do battle.
I won't spoil the ending for you. This movie is beautiful in its simplicity. Its pureness lends it elegance. It is, in a word, awesome.

Multiple redundancy lift/propulsion systems with rows of broadside cannons and an armored hull vs. balloons, spikes, and a big gun pointing in only one (wrong) direction. Yup, sounds like gnomish vs goblin engineering at it's finest.
As for the question of "downwind": the Alliance had the weather gauge, we clearly chose the point of conflict as our ship has far superior maneuverability, and our tactics left little doubt as to the outcome. (and that assessment seems to be proven in Cataclysm)
P.S. I love all the Hordies whining about how they lost a cardboard fireworks battle.
@Angrycelt: I'd say it's just about as hilarious as you Allies gloating and crowing over *winning* said cardboard fireworks battle. I'm frankly not sure which is more sad (and I'm being honest there).
For anyone thinking of just watching this with the sound off - don't. It's twice as entertaining with the NPCs commenting as the battle heats up (hoho, I'm punny).
next time, instead of putting one ship down wind of the other... face them towards each other with the wind running along the ships. that way it's a little more realistic and you can RP them flying with the fireworks (rockets) actually getting caught in the wind as though they were moving forward.
He was only doing it according to lore: in Cataclysm, the Alliance ship still flying, while the Horde ship has crashed. Guess it answers who won the Gunship Battle eh?

Well, I was actually commenting on the design of the in-game ships.
The tactics was just to play along with all the "analysis" going on about why the Skybreaker won.
The Internet: screwing up perfectly good sarcasm since 1969.

So much for Goblin Engineering!

The only flaw in this video is that the horde ship replica didn't have the upper ledge to rocket jump onto for AFK's.

That tears it, I'm gonna re-enact the Dreamwalker fight in my bathtub with my friend's pet iguana and a bunch of Lego people.
It'll be the long-awaited sequel to Jurassic Kitten Park (sadly, we filmed that long before the advent of YouTube).

Oh god yes please.

EPIC!
the only unrealistic part was the horde losing to the alliance dogs
