I'm really hoping they make all the new zones as beautiful as Gineas
John Jul 28th 2010 6:05PM
Seriously, an Edward joke instead of a Lon Chaney joke. That is just in poor taste.
flawless Jul 28th 2010 6:15PM
And down the road, is a huge Ettin eating horses.
A delightful scene indeed.

RoseClown smacks columnist upside the head!
Bad, bad columnist referencing Twilight again! This is bad and you should feel bad. :P
In other news: At least balance out the lameness you are gathering by referencing Twilight in this manner with a reference to Dracula or ancient greek Lycans. Even if you mean it in jest, to refer to the-book-that-shall-not-be-named gives you 500 lame points.
RoseClown Jul 28th 2010 6:24PM
Oh, and for you who didn't get the reference-
Bella, Mary-Sue of twilight, is a brunette.
There is a apple on the cover of twilight.
Neck bearing dress vampire reference.
And the only reason I know all this is because I took a 'Vampires in Literature, from Dracula to Twilight' class. I had to suffer through it for a A in the class.
(cutaia) Jul 28th 2010 6:26PM
I think you should continue with the Twilight references just to rile up the commenters. :D
Timidger Jul 28th 2010 6:28PM
I applaud your stamina
Neodarkmatter Jul 28th 2010 6:35PM
And this was a college class?
RoseClown Jul 28th 2010 7:59PM
Yes, yes it was a college course.
I also had to read the first book in the Anita Blake series (she eventually has 8 boy-toys including, but not limited to, vampires, werewolves, and a werepanther).
At least I got to watch Buffy vs. Dracula in class.

I have a friend who is a philosophy teaching adjunct, and he's currently preparing a class for next semester on Philosophy of the Person, to look at how things like race, gender, sexuality etc. are portrayed in the popular media. He's going to assign a chapter or two from Twilight as a basis to talk about sex and gender roles.
Of course, this means that he has to read the books. He is... kind of in pain.
stevenwoodworth Jul 28th 2010 6:36PM
Why are you apologizing for a Twilight Joke. Twilight -sucks- and will always -suck-.
Iirdan Jul 28th 2010 6:53PM
Twilight is horrible. The Black Hole of Calcutta was horrible.
What makes Twilight jokes acceptable when jokes about the Black Hole of Calcutta are insensitive?
cheebamech Jul 28th 2010 6:56PM
Although I approve of Roses' vehement anti-Tw*l*ghtness( w/e you want to call it), I think I'll go with stevenwoodworth on the joke thing. Twatlight is so terribad why not ridicule it at every opportunity?
RoseClown Jul 28th 2010 8:01PM
Eh, it's more I am tired of Twilight jokes, to the point where it isn't funny anymore and only my loathing remains.
I just want something to cleanse the pallet. Like a reference to Christopher Moore at least.
ElrithCC Jul 28th 2010 10:10PM
Because the whole point of yesterday's contention was not that Twilight should be left alone because it's mean to pick on it, but that it's a lame canned and prepackaged joke guaranteed to get a chuckle from your average Beavis and Butthead busy practicing his Cartman impression in the mirror ten years too late. You probably think Jeff Dunham is cutting edge comedy as well, those puppets of his, how-does-he-do-it-he-kills-me ha ha ha ha! There's nothing clever or funny about it anymore outside of the highschool smoker's corner, and playing a werewolf inspired race now has every bullneck beefacke from here to Saskatoon trying his best to find an excuse to reference furries and Twilight. We get it,... one alludes to the other and Twilight and furries are only for people who aren't sexual dynamos like the real members of society who take the time out of their awesome lives to visit the lame-o nerds who play videogames.
Oni Stardust Jul 29th 2010 4:09AM
The problem is that these jokes are not making fun of Twilight, they are making fun of Worgen by trying to connect them to Twilight, and that shit is getting old.
Worgen have nothing to do with Twilight in any way, end of story.
Oni Stardust Jul 29th 2010 4:11AM
And the woman in the picture clearly has black hair, not brunette.
Lanuria Jul 28th 2010 7:47PM
How does Worgen know what apples is?
KrisseyB Jul 28th 2010 8:09PM
Is the-book-that-shall-not-be-named a "taboo" now? Will it show up if we speak its true name? Or will death eaters appear, and force us with torture curses to read it?
Eternauta Jul 28th 2010 10:30PM
lol Harry Potter reference.
