Your friend saw a DK get LUCKY with a rare spawn and win something that everyone else was going for too? AND he didn't have the money on him to use said item? That IS horrendous, I mean, imagine if someone won the lottery and had never had money before? What the hell would they do with it? That money should have OBVIOUSLY gone to someone more deserving, like someone rich already. They would know exactly what to do with that money, not some plebeian neanderthal poor noob.

I've been happy about my luck on some drops. Usually if I see something rare drop, it's mine. I've gotten the OS3D 10/25 drakes (both on the first time I rolled for them), the brewfest mount (which I sold to a dwarf friend for 2k (don't really care about it), the hallows end mount (sold for 7k + some other stuff).

The bad side of my luck is that nothing really drops. 200+ rivendare kills... been farming ZG for the last year; have done Kael'thas and MC for the legendarys for a LOT...

You've obviously never known the frustration of farming something very rare for months and then watch it go to someone else who has no real use for it, has no real interest in it and probably doesn't even understand the value of it. I wouldn't have minded if the mount went to someone who played regularly. Regularly as in more than once every 3 weeks.

Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word noob, I knew that would've grinded someone's already overgrinded gears and would make me look like a condescending asshole. I'm not leet, I'm pretty casual and normally I'd react like you did, but goddammit it's one of the few things I really want in this game and I hate waiting for another year to get another blessing from the RNG.

I am one of many who hates this comment system. One of the things I hate most is the voting up or down--any unpopular comment gets voted down, even if it's well thought out or written. Sometimes I come along and vote them up just to be contrary.

It was not well thought out, and I consider it a step past 'snarky'. The stories are like when my raid goes and does a OS+3 for the drake and has to pug 1 dps, and the pug wins the drake, 2 weeks in a row. Not like they didn't deserve it, but Lady Luck is having fun at our expense. There's no elitism here.
