"or has the Maelstrom now become a portal to an elemental plane?"
This.
Really don't get how people can't get the whole Maelstrom/Deepholm thing.
Maybe it's just my SciFi, EQ, DnD (unfortunately only reading the novels etc. not playing) background but too many people seem to not get the whole Elemental Plane/Different Phase etc. thing.
The Maelstrom leads to Deepholm now. It hasn't in the past.
Deathwing broke through the Maelstrom probably because he needed a very powerful vortex of magic, thus the Maelstrom was "linked" to the Elemental Plane of Earth.
Nazjatar is still there, probably still down there around the "rift" that is the Maelstrom/was the Well, Blizzard just doesn't let us go there.
Once the link between Deepholme and Azeroth that currently exists as being the Maelstrom gets fixed, flying/going down the Maelstrom will again put you back on the ground on the see, upon the remains of the Well.
As I understand it - don't think it has ever been explained officially so far - the Elemental Planes exist alongside the physical reality of Azeroth. It's in, let's say, a different Phase.
How exactly the whole World Pillar thing works... not sure on that. They can't mean it physically, as in "Azeroth rests on the World Pillar". Azeroth is a globe that supposedly rotates etc. How exactly does the world pillar fit in there? Is the Elemental Plane of Earth within Azeroth? Where does the World Pillar physically connect? And so on. Guess the World Pillar represents the whatever (lil drunk right now, hard to express properly) link the Elemental Plane of Earth has to the physical Azeroth.
Really hope they'll explain the whole ordeal more thoroughly in Cataclysm.

if you're like this when you're drunk, you're probably a fucking genius when sober!

A question about last weeks spoilers... WHO DID THAT TO MAH KINGIE!? Let me at 'em. Let me AT EM!!
Seriously. Someone's got to die for this. If it's someone in my own faction I'm... very GRRRrrr! (articulate, I know).

I wish the podcast could be separated into 2 sections. One about the mechanics of the game and the other the discussion of Lore. I really fall asleep during any discussion of the storyline of the game.
The type of quests I love in Wow are the ones that make a pop culture reference or are just generally silly, I love brewfest and that is about as serious as any quest in wow should be which is not serious at all.
As raider I am strarting to get very tired of sitting through the same RP again and again when we fight the Lich King. I understand the storyline folks love to see this acted out but when you have seen it 40-50 times it starts to get old really fast.

Why was my comment downrated?

Hey, Thrall remembered me!
As I took the ride into the Maelstrom, I began to wonder if this was a good thing.
Darkness, then I found myself facing off against a firing squad. (Were those BB guns?)
I couldn't move, and all I heard was a booming voice shouting something like...
"Where's my Quarterbear??!?"
Must be some quest item they forgot to give me. So I bubble-hearthed.

Well yes, this goes without saying. I just don't want to mess w/ her Bar exams or the awesomeness she already offers on All Things Azeroth. :D
I get more of the EPIC Giggle on ATA. ;) /hugs

Is it just me, or is the term, weekly, becoming less appropriate for the wow insider podcasts these days.
Come on guys! I need my podcast!
