If you're looking for a change from the usual pop or rap featured in WoW filk, allow me to share something entirely different. This is I've Been Everywhere by World of Filkcraft. This movie and song was recommended by Mavericace who recognized it as a cover of Johnny Cash's original song. World of Filkcraft took the lyrics, of course, and tailored them to Azeroth.
The machinima is pretty appropriate to the song, which serves as a travellers love for the many places in Azeroth. If you listen closely, you can chart just about everywhere there is to go in Azeroth. Until Deathwing blows it up, of course.
This is actually one of my favorite pieces of WoW filk in a while. I'm excited to see what these folks might do next, and I definitely hope they stick around for a while.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
That was awesome. I only wish they hadn't used a DK. Or they'd found a way to slightly slow the tempo down, so that the pictures of the places were more than a blip.
A quick Google shows that Johnny Cash was only one of many to cover the song. It was originally released in 1959 in Australia. Hank Snow had the first North American version, and made it into a hit.
Now THAT was a good video. Made me realize just how huge and diverse Azeroth is, and was extremely nostalgic. Capping it off with the Explorer achievement was perfect.

If it had been slowed down it wou;dn't have matched the song...
And if you check out the original you'll see that it's sung even faster than this tribute...

I got mine at the southern tip of Kalimdor, the aptly named "Land's End."

I finished mine off in Silithus, making it literally what it always was figuratively: the last place in the world I'd want to be.

At first, during the slow intro part, I was not impressed, but once the song got started it was great.
And the ending? Epic!
