Around Azeroth Beta Edition: Now I ain't saying she's a gold digger
Vast treasures hidden in the waters outside of Booty Bay? Wouldn't we have found those during all the time we spent leveling in Stranglethorn Vale? Well, turns out that the local pirates we've killed thousands of are actually smarter than us. They've been hiding their gold reserves in the big statue of Baron Revilgaz at Janeiro's Point. The statue's arm was knocked off in Cataclysm, leaving the cavern open for plundering by the first hardy soul to find it. Ho ho! Just kidding. You can't open any of the treasure chests. (Thanks to Solitha of <Six Minutes to Release> on Korialstrasz [US-A] for the screenshot.)

I've been going back an forth on whether or not to level a new character from scratch. I just didn't know if the 1-60 game was going to change enough to be worth it. But this just cinched it for my new warrior. It's really starting to seem like they are putting a whole expansions worth of content into the old world alone.

I'd highly recommend doing just that! I've been leveling my worgen hunter in the beta for the past week, and so far every single zone I've played had an epic questline, one single story weaving through most of the quests and finishing the zone in an event styled in a way comparable to wrathgate. It's really really well done :D
So well done that I haven't been interested yet in checking out the 80+ content much at all, I'm having too much fun in the old world!
Having just finished Cape of Stranglethorn though, I must say that I did see nothing of the above pictured treasure.. the statue looks closed to me, so hm.. maybe the draenei above knows something I don't know or it's just a story.. ! ;)
Then again.. no worries, something MUCH more epic is in store for Booty Bay than mere pirate treasure...

Who says part of the world event isn't to claim the treasure?
It's possible... right?

So we lose Mr. Smite, but gain 3 more chests that newbies will ask "Why can't I open this?"
Ok, not really.

Far be it from me to imply that she is an avaricious woman
But she is not one to associate with the destitute.

Why is it that the more verbose forms of slang are often considerably funnier than the normal version?
Cedarr Aug 5th 2010 2:09PM
Many of my fellow gents find the stark contrast between a crude song dealing with a woman who seeks financial gain through wedlock and the refined vocabulary and grammar of a fine gentleman such as myself to be farcical and ridiculous, I concur.
In Layman's terms, it's silly because the song isn't "refined" and people don't talk that way anymore (if ever).

Not all of us have been killing them, some of us have been working with them.
Given that they've been hiding that much treasure from me in a statue's arm however, I may need to start.

I doth not state the lass is a pursuer of gold; but she doth not consort with Worgen of the lower class.

Are we sure its the pirates treasure, or is it where the goblins have been storing theirs...?
MusedMoose Aug 5th 2010 7:17PM
No matter where it came from, it's the goblins' treasure now.
Just ask them. ^_^
