I wasn't sure about Mama Said Freeze You Out at first. During the first ten to twenty seconds, I kind of gave it that "turn my head sideways and look at it from the corner of my eye" glare of uncertainty. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I'm a huge fan of Nananea's other work, so I stuck it out. And then, like the sun cresting the horizon to create a beautiful dawn, Mama Said Freeze You Out blossomed into something incredible.
There's a new joke every few seconds in this video, and the lyrics do more than just parody LL Cool J's original verse. Nananea took the time to drop some unexpected humor into the words, and even performs some subtle critiques of the PVP game. For all that one might wish for a more skillful lyricist (or "flow," I have been told the hip, new kids call it), I think this performance nailed a wonderful line of parody and criticism.
Also, this video has forced me to realize the original Mama Said Knock You Out is 20 years old. My god.

Yea I agree with you, Michael the lyrics could have used some work. What I found most enjoyable about the video was not the music but the PvP instead as the mage totally demolished the horde easily (I'm Alliance).
Her voice is horrible - I probably could sing better, and I couldn't carry a tune with a bucket. Nasally whines with absolutely no change in pitch belong in the shower, not in videos Wow.com is trying to convince us to watch.
Her "Voice" wasn't bad- kind of cute maybe even. Her "Rap voice" was horrible. I hope LL doesn't hear that or he will want to "knock her out". Overall not bad concept but yeah had to end it after 20 seconds or so. Definitely needed some soul in there.
I'd like to see any of you do better. Actually - I challenge any of you to do better. Put together a video, and sing it, and see if you can do better. If you can, I'll consider your harsh words valid. But from where I'm sitting, you all sound like a bunch of whiners to me (and unnecessarily vicious ones, at that).
White girl "flow" aside, it was well done and cleverly written. I laughed out loud when Bulbasaur showed up. And the 15-second lesson on PVP videos was great.
Eh i liked it, but then I really liked the original also. As to the quality it's not so much that she has a bad flow or an annoying voice but more that she was trying to squeeze in tlyrics that didn't rhyme or fit the tempo of the music, which made them fall flat on occasion.

Twenty...years...
Not cool to remind people of just how old they are.
blissfire Aug 6th 2010 1:16AM
No no, I like this game. Did you know that the kids going to college next year weren't even alive when Jurassic Park came out? Where's my cane?
Heather Aug 6th 2010 10:15AM
Seriously? They weren't alive when Jurassic Park came out?
I really am an old codger now. T_T

The video was enjoyable overall but some tuning on the voice would have been nice.
Also no possibly NSFW tag? I could care less but some might.

Yeah. A NSFW tag would've been good.

Hee hee hee... I love this video. I actually like it better than the Addon song.
Although I was never a fan of the original song, I giggled enough during the video to make it worth it.

Yet another machinima music video parody. Is there a button so I can down rate this whole post?
At least this one doesn't star a blood elf.
