I wasn't sure about Mama Said Freeze You Out at first. During the first ten to twenty seconds, I kind of gave it that "turn my head sideways and look at it from the corner of my eye" glare of uncertainty. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I'm a huge fan of Nananea's other work, so I stuck it out. And then, like the sun cresting the horizon to create a beautiful dawn, Mama Said Freeze You Out blossomed into something incredible.
There's a new joke every few seconds in this video, and the lyrics do more than just parody LL Cool J's original verse. Nananea took the time to drop some unexpected humor into the words, and even performs some subtle critiques of the PVP game. For all that one might wish for a more skillful lyricist (or "flow," I have been told the hip, new kids call it), I think this performance nailed a wonderful line of parody and criticism.
Also, this video has forced me to realize the original Mama Said Knock You Out is 20 years old. My god.

Wow. it was like listening to someone's mom trying really hard to fit in with a younger crowd by singing along with some horrible 20 year old rap music.
Heather answered above (reposting to be sure you see it): Nananea uses Tidy Plates: Threat Plates, which is an awesome addon. She actually has another video on YouTube where she talks about the addon.
Really, although I could appreciate some of the humorous parts, her flat voice (though didn't grate on me, as others have said) just doesn't really draw you in.
Basically, she didn't put attitude/emotion into her delivery. Which, if you don't have that in rap, makes every. single. word. fall. flat.
Plus, it makes it monotonous to listen to.
What it comes down to is that I could appreciate the funny and the skill that went into this, but the delivery of the lyrics left me kinda bored.

Haha, that was funny, good find. I like light-hearted machinima like this and I loved the dig at the typical PVP videos, so damn true.

I'm noticing that the moviewatches lately (save for the Inception trailer parody) have been... really damn awful.

Heh...white and nerdy.

Nice to see a parody of a rap song that isn't the same few lines repeated over and over :)

Oh look, it's a WoW machinima music video parody.
Yawn. Is this really ALL the machinima that gets made these days?

We must have missed your epic machinima drama.

The next one I'm working on is going to be love story of epic proportions. Or at least blue proportions.
