For Worgen: "What are we if not slaves to this torment?"

It's not for nothing that the worgen and the forsaken are fighting in game: it's effectively an objective correlative between the fictional setting and their individual roles within it and in their factions. Forsaken are cursed being trapped between life and death, while worgen are cursed being pinioned between beast and man. Each has to adjust to a new way of looking at existence and what his or her place in it is.
Each is their faction's 'monster', effectively: in a world of orcs and tauren, forsaken stand out as abominations rejected by the natural world those groups so revere (besides Sylvanas' former status as one of the high elves greatest heroes, this is how the forsaken and the blood elves manage to find common ground, as the 'other guys' from the supposedly shamanistic orcs, trolls and tauren) while the worgen are now the 'brutes' of the Alliance, with a once proud civilization left in tatters due to war and the imposition of a new way of life, which gives them their rapport with the night elves.

I haven't done the Worgen starting zone, but are they truly 'brutes'? From the little I've heard, it sounds like a Machiavellian thing that they embrace the worgen curse in order to protect themselves.

They're brutes in that they are hulking wolfmen. It's absolutely not the case that they 'embrace' the curse. It's forced upon them and they struggle to control and direct it. Better the invading forsaken die at your claws than your loved ones, yes, but no one in any of the quests goes out looking to be made a worgen in order to better protect Gilneas.

@Matthew
I think this has been reiterated, but honestly speaking, while as a faction I understand the GILNEANS being there, but as a race, they're not honestly, a 'race'. UNLESS, it is started in-game, that their children would be permanently altered into half-wolf forms in which case, genetically they are indeed no longer pure humans
As it is, aren't they technically the HUMAN race under the effects of a curse (and the fact that the starting quest basically says they have a partial cure that lets them resume their original human form means that they're not fully genetically pure worgen).
I'll actually be interested in seeing if during their Children's day, their 'child' model would in fact be a human boy/girl in different clothes...or a were-puppy?
...
(I for one vote for Were-puppy!)
