Cataclysm Beta: Guild vendor armor, pets, mounts and more

See that dark phoenix pictured above? Want one for your very own? Wondering where to get it? Wonder no more -- with the latest patch drop on the Cataclysm beta servers, this mount is listed as a guild reward that you may purchase from the guild reward vendor located in the capital city of your respective faction. On top of the gorgeous dark phoenix, plenty of other amazing items have been added to the vendor. Recipes, pets, a ground mount that is unique to your faction -- and for those wondering where we'd get our level 85 heirlooms from, they're on the vendor, as well.
Take a look at the gallery below for a peek at what the guild vendor has to offer. Please note the heirlooms reflect both level 1 stats as well as stats for my character's current level, 83. As for prices on the items, don't get your hopes up -- as with everything on the beta, these are subject to change at any time.

I thought they made it pretty clear hte new heirloom (and slots then) are for 80 - 85 only. Your previous heirlooms will only work until 80.
So no '40%' boost for you.
Calaana Aug 14th 2010 3:02AM
Ignoring the obvious "1 to 85(83)" in the imagery, what they've stated is the current heirlooms only work to 80, and ther'ell be new ones at 85 for alts from level one.
Drakkenfyre Aug 14th 2010 1:42AM
Look again. They have "Level 1" stats.
The new Heirlooms go to 85, but they don't start at 80.
N-train Aug 14th 2010 3:53AM
I was under the impression that new heirlooms only worked after 80 as well, and I have a feeling that the lvl 1 stats are just because the new system hasn't been implemented yet.
40% just seems too much, if you ask me. The goal of heirlooms is to make leveling smoother for people trying to max out a new character, not make leveling a breeze.

I suppose they 'might' cap the xp boost at 25% or thereabouts at least at the start of the expansion, but why cap those that don't like levelling when those (like me) who enjoy it can tailor the speed to their own pace?
Rajinnu Aug 14th 2010 12:40AM
either way it will be cool having a helm and a cloak.
those vanity pets sound cool, so do the mounts. I hope its going to be exactly the same for a pvp guild to get rep with your guild as it would be a pve guild.. I am officially quitting the pve game as per cataclysm and going rated bg/arena full time.

I'm still somewhat confused with guild stuff.
Let's say I get to exalted with my guild, but my shiny phoenix mount, and then six months later the guild disbands or I need to stop raiding for a while and get kicked out or something.
Do I lose my mount?
Calaana Aug 14th 2010 1:01AM
If the guild disbands? Likely, as the reputation faction no longer exists for you to be exalted with.
If you get kicked out, your rep remains the same until you join a different guild, so you can rejoin, otherwise no mounty for you.
Basically, if you aren't in the guild, you don't get guild perks
Dalrint Aug 14th 2010 1:34AM
Right, but the mount isn't necessarily a 'perk.' It's something I bought with gold, right?
So I could see losing the various bonuses that being in the guild conferred...but do you lose the ITEMS you bought also?
cielago Aug 14th 2010 2:03AM
blizz stated somewhere that you keep the rewards after you buy them, even if you leave the guild, so you'll keep and be able to use the phoenix.
Calaana Aug 14th 2010 6:29AM
Perhaps perk was the wrong word, with he talents being called perks now. Replace "perks" with "bonuses" in my first comment.
In Cata, you help level the guild, and this builds your rep with the guild, which dictates what you can buy, like every other rep. These bonuses include heirloom, mounts, and recipes, from earlier Blizzard posts. "And" is important, not to sound condescending but because I keep seeing it used.
Other posts have stated that you loose access to the then known perks, now the bonuses I mention, when you leave the guild(You loose the rep with them upon joining a different guild). Specifically, you unlearn recipes, and guild heirlooms are returned to the guild bank.
This is from a while back, and since then I've seen them split the bonuses into two categories - player and guild bonuses. You'll also note that some of the items listed in the windows have "Guild" in the name - the pets don't, but the mounts do.
One wall of text later, we arrive at my point(I should stack haste); The "Flying Guild Mount" is obviously a guild object, not a player object, so will likely only be available while you are in the guild(and probably at exalted rank), but things like the "Snail Pet" lacks the word "guild".

Epicness with a side order of awesomesauce! *head asplodes*.....the seafood feast restores 92k+ health *cough* holy heirlooms batman! Helms and capes! I suddenly want to spend my argent tokens on other stuffs. Wow.
Draelan Aug 14th 2010 1:11AM
Awesome! I was hoping I'd get to find out what the horde ground mount was. Thunder Lizard seems pretty cool. (Though I can't help but wonder how you ride it with those armor plate spikes along its back. o.O)
MMO Champion has the Alliance version of the vendor posted, and Allies apparently get a Lion! Could be interesting, though I'm hoping it doesn't wind up with the Nightsaber armor... It would probably cover up the mane. (Since I'm assuming it would be male, since a lioness would be TOO close to nightsabers...)
KenMan Aug 14th 2010 2:23AM
I think the guild mounts are kind of a cop out, I mean Alliance gets a Lion, they get cats as mounts already. Horde gets a Thunder Lizard, which unless I'm mistaken have the same data skeleton as Kodos. I guess you could argue the real bonus is the Phoenix though.
Stella Aug 14th 2010 2:42AM
It's fitting. You can't say "Alliance" without 'lion'.
tulipblossom Aug 14th 2010 3:47AM
I'm so excited about all of this, too. I can't wait to see an image of the lion. I hope that it'll look fairly different from the sabers and have unique armor, as well. Or, I'd be really thrilled if it had no armor at all, to be honest.
So many things have me excited about Cata, but the whole guild thing really really has me pumped! A snail pet, dark phoenix pet, new dark phoenix mount, two new faction ground mounts? I'm so over the moon! I can't wait~.
Plus, new recipes and a guild cauldron? The expansion can't come soon enough!
Shassar Aug 14th 2010 10:28PM
You mean Allionce?
uncaringbear Aug 14th 2010 3:11AM
As someone who tries to avoid guilds like the plague, this is not boding well.
tulipblossom Aug 14th 2010 3:43AM
Aww, lol. I'm so sorry, but your name just cracked me up a little. I just get this sort of comical mental image. :3
Also, I completely understand. Some people just enjoy going solo. Or, not even necessarily going solo, but simply dislike the idea of being part of a guild.
If you are someone who's concerned about that sort of thing in Cataclsym, maybe you could find a handful of friends who are all in the same boat and create a little guild of your own. I'm guessing that it will take a bit longer for smaller guilds to reach certain achievements and so on, but no matter what, all guilds will have access to the fun things that are on their way. And, no matter the size of your guild, i don't think it will drastically effect how you gain rep, personally, within the system.
Zanaji Aug 14th 2010 6:58AM
I really don't undeerstand where the QQ is coming from in this. My bank alt is in a guild of one. If I were spending all my wow-time on her my bank guild could eventually get all these perks. As was mentioned before, no group activities are *required* to level up a guild. All a personal guild would lose out on is getting the efforts of other people towards your levelling.
