The new phoenix mount is such a disgrace. The original Ashes of A'lar mount was put in the game for the child that was diagnosed with the life-threatening illness who visited Blizzard HQ and has since past away. That should be the only Phoenix mount, and it's just unbelievable that now anyone who gets some guild rep will be able to have a purple (armored) one.

Ashes of A'lar was meant to go in the game before Ezra Chatterton visited Blizzard for his wish. He was given the first one, but the mount was not made for him.

Actually, the way you seem to play fast and loose with facts is the only disgrace I see.Esra 'Ephoenix' Chatterton was given the world's first Ashes of A'lar because it tied so closely to his character name. The only things that Ezra actually put in the game were the Ahab Wheathoof questline and the Merciless Gladiator's Crossbow of the Phoenix. After Ezra passed away in 2008, Blizzard commemorated him once again by renaming Elder Proudhorn in Thunder Bluff, Elder Ezra Wheathoof.source: WoWWiki
