Another build hit
Cataclysm beta realms this evening, bringing a whole slew of new data into the game. Certainly the most eyecandylicious is Thrall's new model, which you can see above. He's abandoned his
Stockade Pauldrons for a more old-school shaman look, passing on the brutal, raw elemental aesthetics we've been seeing in the armor given to player characters for the last couple of years.
My significant other suggested that the prayer beads around Thrall's neck make him look like
Street Fighter's Dhalsim (but green and beefy), but
come on. Everyone knows Dhalsim wears skulls and not beads
. Get with the program, here!

Messing around with WoW Model Viewer has taught me that weapons are usually not part of a character's model. At least it isn't for the factions leaders, I haven't played with other NPC models much.

I could see Thrall giving it to Garrosh and him melting it down or something to that effect after Thrall leaves, with of course Garrosh making some douch-bagery comment on why wearing the armor would make him weak or some BS. Nothing is ever good enough for Garrosh it seems.

I think they just might have not added Doomhammer yet, hopefully they are remodeling it too.

He probably tried to DE his old gear, but got the "Item cannot be disenchanted" message, so they're rotting in his bank now because he can't be bothered to destroy them all and have to type "DELETE" every time.

He doesn't look bad. Nice that they kept him actually looking like an Orc.
They changed Garrosh's model, and while I don't like him anyway, I don't know what the HELL they changed him into. He does not look like an Orc.

And MMO-Champion.com now has the new loading screens. Now, it shows the racial leaders on each one. ACK, we have to see Garrosh each time that screen loads. And the Northrend image is spoilerific. I know it takes place after the Lich King is dead, but did they have to put him on the loading screen? Now new players are going to ask "Who the hell is that guy?"

Wow... garrosh looks nothing like an orc now.
Anduin doesn't look bad... but he looks like he ought to be 17 or 18 at least, which indicates a large time gap

As regards Ysera, we've been told that there's a lore reason she has her eyes open now.
As regards that Northrend loading screen, that picture is so sad. :(
