The Queue: Pencils down

No particular reason for this image, just that I think Dalton Ghetti's pencil-tip mini-sculptures are amazing.
Eregos ftw! asked:
Is the pathing for flights in old world better then it is currently in live? I don't want to fly for 20 mins when the place I want to go is only 2 zones over...
Yep, flight pathing has been improved in several zones, largely due to the addition of plenty of new flight paths in said zones.
Orkchop asked:
Is it possible to have the WoW Insider Show 5 days a week? Maybe you guys could just ride with my on my commute to and from work?
OH, and could Robin, Adam, Alex, Allison, Lisa or Liz Harper be a guest host one time? Oh and more Anne, too, of course.
I know you're only joking, at least about the first part, but man, that'd be a lot of work. Especially for Adam, who has to edit the audio. We're not against doing the show more than once per week in the future, though.
shotgun.shenanigans asked:
We know in Cataclysm we'll have to visit a dungeon's entrance for LFD to allow us to queue for it. Question is, how easy is it going to be to get to some dungeons that are in enemy territory? Is it going to automatically let us queue for Stockades/RFC without visiting the entrances if we're the opposite faction? What about things like Scarlet Monastery or Gnomergan? How difficult is it going to be for a player of the opposite faction and appropriate level to visit those dungeon entrances?
Once you're of the appropriate level to enter Deadmines and Ragefire, you're automatically eligible to queue for them, regardless of whether you've discovered the entrance. My goblin can do Deadmines or Ragefire at 16. I'm not sure about Stockades.
Draev asked:
Since we know we can't customize our human forms when creating worgen ... Is it possible to then go to the barber shop and customize the human aspect or will that change the worgen side as well?
Human forms for worgen work the exact same way that the Human Illusion in Caverns of Time works -- each customization option you pick for your character has a corresponding number to it in the database, and all the illusion does is use those same numbers for your human form. It stands to reason that you could change your customization options for either form, but they'd likely be tied together. We haven't heard anything about whether you can go into a barber shop in human form, though.

I thought we will be able to customize the human look aswell when creating a worgen char O.o
Luci Aug 13th 2010 3:18PM
I think they originally did say that when cata was first announced.
Thorzon Aug 13th 2010 3:27PM
Blizzard said you would be able to customize your human form too, but they haven't set it up yet.
snowleopard233 Aug 13th 2010 3:42PM
No joke, after seeing my draenei as a human in CoS, I really want to be a black guy with a shaved head and goatee. Has anyone seen any darker skinned worgen running around?
RedMosquito Aug 13th 2010 4:07PM
@snowleopard233
Currently, you can't customize your Worgen's appearence at all. So, every single worgen in the game right now is a bald white guy with a beard and 'stache when in human form:

Ronin Aug 13th 2010 4:51PM
@RedMosquito Whoa! That's the face my son chose for his human rogue, that he's using as a place-hold character for when he creates his Worgen! How'd he know that's what he was supposed to look like? o.0
I SERIOUSLY hope that they'll work it out so we can customize our Worgen and Human forms seperately. It might even be a deal-breaker for me, as to whether I play a Worgen or not.
At the LEAST they need to be consistent, and allow us to pick our Human form and have our Worgen form be determined by that, like they did with N Elf Druids and their "animal" forms.
*ducks bottles, eggs and rotten fruit thrown at him by people who'd rather pick their Worgen forms, if only one customization is under our control*
Dendaris Aug 13th 2010 5:04PM
@Ronin
I think it is consistent with the druid forms, if not slightly better.
It's consistent in that the Night Elf/Tauren models are the primary forms and the bear/cat forms are secondary forms. Thus, your secondary form is based on your primary form's appearance. The primary form for Worgen is, arguably, Worgen. Human form is just something you shift into if and when you feel like it.
It's slightly better in that you're supposed to be able (as I understand it) to see the human form as you're customizing your Worgen form. This is not a luxury you have with druids.

@ Luci
Remember the dance studio promise? Yeah.
Artificial Aug 13th 2010 5:39PM
@Luci: No, that's not what they said, it's just what a lot of people read into what they said. What they have said is that you will be able to customize your appearance. What they have not said (and I would guess is not true) is that you can customize the human and worgen form appearances independently of one another.
Drakkenfyre Aug 13th 2010 5:43PM
Ronin, you will be in Worgen form most of the time, you cannot attack in human form. It wouldn't be right if you had to customize your human form, and your Worgen form is based off that.
Druids, on the other hand, have a choice whether or not to be in a form to attack.
You will be able to see your human form when you create a character, but won't be able to customize it separately, they already said that. They changed it since it was originally announced. They might add in the ability later.
Toggle Aug 13th 2010 6:54PM
Yeah, Druids have the choice whether to be in a form during serious play in the same way that priests have a "choice" to tank.
Rude Hero Aug 13th 2010 7:25PM
Here's what they said that they'd like to do.
They'd like to allow you to see your human form while choosing your worgen appearance. The two forms are still linked, such that if, for example, you pick the red worgen fur your human will always have red hair, but at least you know what you're getting into. Before you click "enter world."
tulipblossom Aug 13th 2010 8:03PM
I'm really not sure what's happening, anymore. The last I heard, we wouldn't be able to customize our humans, specifically. But, we would be able to see our human forms, while we customized our Worgen. So, as we customized our Worgen form, we'd be able to see how our Human form changed and make sure we were cool with both, before hitting the create button. That way, there wouldn't be tons of people creating and deleting Worgen, just to get their most favored human look.
I really hope that we will be able to specifically customize our human forms, as well. But, if we can't at the creation screen, then I think allowing us to alter them via the barber shop would be a really really fair compromise. I hope that one or the other will be possible!
Drakkenfyre Aug 13th 2010 10:14PM
My point was was that a Druid can attack in whatever form they want, whether or not it's practical. A Worgen cannot. The second you attack, poof, Worgen form.
The guy was advocating that the Worgen form would change depending on the Human form, which is stupid. You will be in Worgen form 99% of the time unless you RP. Having the Human form change depending on your other form makes more sense.
wrendil Aug 16th 2010 3:57PM
They just need to set the worgen up in a room with a full length mirror for their starting screen back drop, reflection shows human form...
Jason Aug 13th 2010 3:08PM
I love the pencil sculptures! I just found them a few weeks ago myself - they're incredible.
Fadmin Aug 13th 2010 3:32PM
Meh, it'd be more impressive if they weren't a sans-serif font.
(I kid - they're pretty darn neat!!)
Faith Trust Aug 13th 2010 4:02PM
Yes Johnny there are a lot of people that do sculptures on small surfaces.
Like having your name carved up in one rise grain or stuff like that
Snuzzle Aug 14th 2010 1:43AM
@Fadmin, you should click the link and check out his other stuff. My favorite is the saw carved from a whole pencil.... the lead making up the blade and the pencil wood making up the wooden handle. It's simply amazing.

Has there been any changes to the outlands at all in the beta? maybe a few new quests poking into cata on azeroth, maybe even the sporeggar taking back their cave in zangarmarsh? (same goes for northrend)
