24-hour maintenance announced for more realms

Blizzard has announced on the loading screen another round of 24-hour maintenance for select realms to happen on Tuesday. This is part of the continuing plan to upgrade all servers before Cataclysm. The servers not listed will be undergoing normal maintenance, though that often means that those servers' downtime will also be extended at least a couple of hours. We shall see.
Of course, this means that we're going to have to have another WoW.com Server Maintenance Party. Since neither Shadow Council (US-RP-A) nor Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) will be affected, we have our choice of realms. So the question is ...
Polls close Sunday and we'll announce the event details on Monday. Expect the event to take place around 10:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. PDT) Tuesday night. I will also be streaming the event on WoW.com's Justin.tv channel.

Select 24 Hour Maintenance – 08/17The realms listed below will be undergoing a 24-hour extended maintenance to prepare them for the upcoming expansion. Maintenance will begin at 12:01 AM PDT on Tuesday, August 17, and will conclude at approximately 12:01 AM PDT on Wednesday, August 18.
All realms not listed below will undergo standard scheduled maintenance beginning on Tuesday, August 17, at 5:00 AM PDT and will be back up at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. During this time, all realms and many web services will be unavailable.

No it doesn't mean soon - they've put that statement over the past couple of months for anytime they've taken down servers for 24 hours.

Which happened only once and it was to upgrade the other half of the servers to be cataclysm ready.
Nice try at being an ass tho.
This maintenance is the 2nd half of the server upgrade, meaning after this servers will be ready to run cataclysm.
While it does mean soon, we all have known for months now that Cata isn't coming out until late november.

Actually I think this is the 3rd time. There were two rounds of 24 hour maintenance. I remember because twice Moon Guard wasn't listed and my raid is on Tues, so I had to pay attention.

Ever since the podcast mentioned moon guards, so to speak-- issues... I can't help but snicker every time I even see the server mentioned.

These are both of the Seattle datacenter battlegroups. Maybe we'll get lucky and Blizzard will move them to a datacenter that doesn't epic fail on a weekly basis.

Sure, they are going to move millions of dollars worth of server hardware from one center to another, or break their contracts, and transfer the TB's worth of player data from one datacenter to another in 24 hours.
I don't think so. Better hope for better server stability after the maintainence than that.

Those are already on the servers, they just need to be turned on by the admins. This is the fourth 24-hour maintenance Blizzard have done.

Okay, PvE is "It Came from the Blog", RP would be "B L O G", and I guess PvP would also be "ICftB"? Or is it time to start a 3rd WoW.com guild, on a PvP server? "Ganked by the Blog"?
